00:00Hello again. Lots of blue skies and sunshine to come with our weather through this weekend.
00:06Settled and dry with high pressure in charge and it stays in charge throughout the weekend.
00:10A big area of high pressure dominating our UK so it keeps things dry and settled by and
00:18large.
00:19We do have a few weather fronts affecting the far north, mainly through this evening
00:22and into the first part of tomorrow. For Shetland we'll see a little bit of light rain and drizzle
00:26from time to time but for most places it's clear skies through the night and under those
00:31clear skies the nights are still long enough for there to be a touch of frost ones and
00:35twos in some of our colder spots as we start Saturday morning.
00:39But we will of course be compensated by plenty of blue sky sunshine to start the day. It
00:45really is going to be a glorious day out there. For many areas we'll see that sunshine lasting
00:50right the way through the day but don't forget that UV levels are getting to moderate now
00:54at this time of year so for any length of time that you're in the sunshine you can
00:59burn.
01:00But temperatures responding well in that sunshine. Highs of 19 possibly 20 degrees across the
01:05south feeling very warm indeed for this time of year. We should be around 12 or 13 for
01:10the end of March.
01:11A little bit of fair weather cloud will bubble up at times and it does stay a little bit
01:14cloudier across the far north and northeast of Scotland but even here we'll see a few
01:19breaks in that cloud developing and a bit more of a breeze across that southeast corner
01:23through the English Channel. So feeling a touch cooler at times here and that gradual
01:28easterly breeze will just start to drift some low cloud, mist and murk in off the North
01:33Sea as we go through into the early part of Sunday. So for here turning grey, misty and
01:38a little bit murky but out towards the west where we have those clearer skies we'll once
01:42again see another quite cold night into the first part of Sunday morning.
01:47So subtle differences I think with Sunday. We will see more in the way of cloud across
01:52those eastern areas of Scotland and England. Some of that drifts its way into the Midlands
01:56and central southern England I think through the day. So for some places quite a contrast
02:01to Saturday. Still dry but more in the way of cloud around. So I think temperatures will
02:06struggle under that cloud. We may only get to highs of 11 to 13 degrees which will be
02:11several degrees down on Saturday. But some of the highest temperatures will be for the
02:15likes of Devon and Cornwall, parts of south west Wales, maybe northern Ireland we could
02:19see 17 or 18 degrees here.
02:24Now as we look ahead in towards the start of next week, high pressure stays close by
02:28but it does start to just dwindle to the north and what that means is we start to see our
02:33air coming down from the north east. So through Monday, Tuesday still much more of the same
02:37weather if a little bit more in the way of cloud. But by Wednesday and going onwards
02:42into the week we start to drag in some colder air from the north east. So things are set
02:47to turn colder for many areas by the time we get to Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures
02:53coming down much closer to average possibly even a touch below.
02:57So quite a bit going on with our weather going ahead. Of course on UV levels you can stay
03:01up to date with those on our website. But for the weekend weather forecast you can check
03:05us out on our social media and I'll see you soon. Take care.
