00:00Hello a blustery day with sunshine and showers and it'll be similar on Friday
00:05as well. The bigger picture shows a lot of cloud out to the west, lumpy cloud
00:10that's all the showers. Some places started off with some sunshine but
00:14there's more weather systems coming in. This big area of low-pressure dominating
00:17weather fronts wrapping around it spreading in the showers. There's also
00:21this little wiggling waving area of cloud down to the south that is a
00:25weather front that is just going to push some more rain across southern areas
00:29later in the day. We've got clumps of showers to start with but we'll also see
00:33showers developing as we go through the afternoon as parts of eastern England
00:37and southern Scotland. Frequent showers for Northern Ireland and Northern
00:41England. Something a bit drier elsewhere, some brighter spells with some sunshine
00:45but clouding over in the south as that weather front moves up with rain getting
00:49on to the south coast by the end of the afternoon. It is pretty blustery, quite
00:53light winds over central and northern Scotland but elsewhere gusty conditions
00:57throwing the showers across pretty rapidly but also making it feel a little
01:02cooler than it actually is because temperatures are slightly above average
01:04at double figures almost across the board and 15 degrees is likely across
01:08parts of the east when the sun is out. We'll hang on to that mixture of
01:12sunshine and showers for most through the evening but at the same time this
01:15area of rain will be pushing into the southeast. Now some uncertainty still
01:18about how far north that rain gets it could get into the Midlands for a time
01:22certainly a fairly wet evening for East Anglia and the southeast before that
01:26disappears soon after midnight and then again we're left watching the showers
01:30plenty of them for Northern Ireland and Scotland and North West England but
01:34further south and east many places will become dry overnight and clear. It won't be
01:39a particularly cold night perhaps a bit cooler than recent nights but still
01:42temperatures generally in towns and cities staying in the mid single figures
01:46of brisk breeze bringing a coolish start to Friday but plenty of sunshine to
01:51begin with certainly over England and Wales. Lots of cloud for Scotland and
01:55Northern Ireland and plenty more showers to come here and the showers
01:59will develop elsewhere for a largely sunny start we'll see showers
02:03developing quite widely by the afternoon again they'll tend to zip through on a
02:07brisk wind but again they're likely in places to be pretty heavy and perhaps
02:13even thundery. That gusty wind will again mean it'll feel a little cooler than the
02:18numbers on the thermometer would suggest double figures widely again maybe eight
02:22or nine in the far north but otherwise double digits perhaps into the teens
02:25across the south and east when the Sun comes out but temperatures will soon
02:28drop when the showers come along. Now you see the circulation here in the winds
02:33that's the area of low pressure which will be bringing more and more showers
02:36into Northern Ireland during Friday evening so a pretty wet end to Friday
02:42here plenty of those showers spiralling in to southern and central Scotland also
02:47is this area of low pressure starting to make progress then into the country
02:51during Friday night and into Saturday meaning more showers across the north on
02:55Saturday and then a little weather feature enhancing the wet weather across
02:59the south during Saturday night and into Sunday. As all that clears out of the way
03:03the winds switch direction and we start to see a northerly wind which will bring
03:07colder air during the course of the weekend. For a full detailed weekend
