00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. As we look ahead to the
00:04new working week, the weather is set to remain settled across the country as high pressure
00:08remains firmly in charge and actually will not go very far away at all as we move throughout
00:13this week. Still got a keen wind off the North Sea though so that will keep things on the
00:17chilly side, especially across the east and the south.
00:21Back to Sunday evening, we've got quite a bit of cloud across eastern Scotland and northern
00:24England. This will sink its way a little bit further southwards as the night goes on. Could
00:28just see a few outbreaks of rain too in that cloud. But for everyone else, plenty of clear
00:35skies around, especially for Scotland and the south-west of England. So here a widespread
00:39frost as we start Monday morning. Could potentially be as low as minus 8 or minus 9 in a few spots
00:45of Scotland. But where we do see the frost, we will see a fairly sunny start to the new
00:50working week but it won't last for southern parts of England. The cloud further north
00:54will sink its way southwards as we go through the course of the day. So overall, for England,
00:58Wales and a good chunk of Northern Ireland, quite a lot of cloud around. Some sunny spells
01:02in between but also still the risk of a few showers. Scotland, although the eastern side
01:08of Scotland will continue to see some cloud. Further west, plenty of sunshine as we go
01:13through the course of Monday. Feeling fairly pleasant too with light winds here and highs
01:17reaching around 7 or 8 degrees. But further south, especially towards the south-east where
01:22we have got that wind under the cloud, it is going to feel pretty chilly. So certainly
01:26feeling a lot chillier than what these temperatures suggest. Going into Monday evening, we may
01:32well just see a brief clearer slot of weather coming through across southern England but
01:35further cloud then will quickly replace this as we go through the course of the night.
01:40Best of the clear skies will be up across parts of Scotland. So here, another widespread
01:44frost as we start Tuesday morning. Elsewhere, for most towns and cities, I think we should
01:48probably stay just above freezing. And really, Tuesday for most of us actually is a very
01:54similar day. Best of the sunshine once again across parts of Scotland. Northern Ireland
01:59may well see a little bit more in the way of sunshine compared to Monday. But we are
02:02keeping a very close eye on this band of showers as it moves its way southwards across parts
02:07of England. Could well turn a little bit wintry at times, especially across the higher grounds.
02:12But certainly not really expecting too much at lower levels and certainly not settling
02:17on the surface. Temperatures on Tuesday, very similar to Monday. So again, highs reaching
02:23around 8 to 7 degrees in the north, around 9 to 10 in the south. But again, factoring
02:30the wind, it will feel a little bit cooler than this. And then looking ahead for the
02:34rest of the week, very similar weather to be had. Lots of dry and settled weather. Still
02:39the risk of the odd shower from time to time and the best of any brightness always over
02:44towards the western half of the country and still feeling pretty chilly in that northeasterly
02:49wind. Well, that's all from me for now. You can always keep up to date on the weather
02:53through our app on our website or always follow us on social media. But I will see you again
02:59soon.
