00:00Hi there. A mild but also breezy, damp and cloudy day to come for many. We've seen a
00:07warm front cross the country during the last 24 hours. That's brought milder air with it
00:11from the south-west. A cold front then follows, thickening up the cloud and bringing some
00:16spells of showery rain during the afternoon and into the evening. And these fronts linger
00:21across the north of Scotland to bring a damp day here, still in the relatively cold air
00:25for Shetland and Orkney. Elsewhere across the UK, it is considerably mild compared with
00:30recent days. But there are spells of rain for northern and western England as well as
00:35parts of Wales, that rain moving into the Midlands by mid-afternoon. And for Scotland
00:40and for Northern Ireland, the rain turns to showers. Best of any brighter spells will
00:45be across Northern Ireland after the front clears. 15, possibly even 16 Celsius here
00:50and the possibility of 15 Celsius in the far south-east, just ahead of the front. But there
00:55will be some sharp showers developing there across Northern Ireland into south-west and
01:00then central Scotland during the evening. Perhaps even the odd rumble of thunder, gusty
01:04winds in the west and the front across central areas lingers for a time before the rain peters
01:09out during the early hours. A lot of cloud across the UK overnight and with this mild
01:14airflow, temperatures are going to stay up at the mid to high single figures, more or
01:19less, although low single figures possible in the far north of Scotland. That's where
01:23the colder air remains and some more persistent rain as well. But for the rest of the UK,
01:29a frost-free start to the day, a lot of cloud cover and a blossoming of the rainfall across
01:35some south-eastern parts into east Anglia during the morning. That clears by lunchtime.
01:41Brighter skies follow but fairly widely scattered showers developing. These showers will be
01:45slow moving across Northern Ireland and they'll be heavy with a chance of thunder or even
01:50hail across central parts of England. That's where temperatures will be highest actually,
01:54where we avoid the showers, 16, possibly even 17 Celsius, but in the far north we keep the
02:00colder air and some more persistent rain in the far north of Scotland as well. So a showery
02:06day to come for many on Friday after that earlier rainfall clears in the south-east
02:10and the showers continue into the evening on Friday, perhaps some longer spells of rain
02:14towards north-western parts as well. A lot of cloud once again. We've got that mild air
02:18in place so it is another frost-free start on Saturday. Saturday, generally a showery
02:23day, perhaps some longer spells of rain in places. Sunday starts off drier with more
02:27rain in the west later.
