00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest broadcast from the Met Office. Over the next few days,
00:06low pressure remains in charge of our weather. We can see this on the pressure maps. We've
00:11got a huge area of low pressure sat to the west of the UK, the jet stream helping to
00:15draw in very mild air from the south for the time of year. But this also brings the risk
00:20of stronger winds, outbreaks of rain at times, particularly across western areas. So what's
00:26happening through the rest of Tuesday? A lot of dry weather across the UK, fair amount
00:31of cloud but there will be some bright or sunny spells, a scattering of showers. However,
00:35later on we will see some thicker cloud, outbreaks of rain and also strengthening winds coming
00:40into parts of Cornwall, Devon and then later on into parts of South Wales too. Here, a
00:46bit of a wet end to the day but elsewhere fairly dry. Temperatures well above where
00:51they should be for the time of year due to that southerly breeze, 17, 18 Celsius as a
00:55maximum temperature. As we head through the evening, outbreaks of rain push their way
00:59northwards through western areas, turning heavy at times and then overnight further
01:04cloud and rain sweeps eastwards across many areas. A band of heavier rain will move into
01:09parts of Northern Ireland, West Wales and South West England as we head towards the
01:13end of the night. Winds really picking up for everyone but in the west we could see
01:18gales around some exposed coasts. This means temperatures won't fall very low at all. This
01:23could be a daytime chart at this time of the year, 12 to 16 Celsius as minimum temperatures.
01:29Through Wednesday, outbreaks of rain push their way north and eastwards quite quickly
01:33through the morning, holding on across northern Scotland for the longest, brightening up through
01:37the day for most areas and we'll see a scattering of showers but plenty of sunny spells. But
01:44it will be a blustery day for everyone. Winds will be on the strong side, particularly around
01:48western coasts, but temperatures lifting further, 19, possibly 20 Celsius towards the
01:54south east, the mid teens across the north. So the mild theme continues and if you'd like
