00:00Hello again and welcome to your forecast for Friday and into the weekend. Taking a look
00:05at things through the rest of Friday, it's going to be dry for many of us. We've got
00:09some warm spells of September sunshine to enjoy, but not all of us will see that sunshine
00:14because up towards north-western Scotland and some western parts of the country we will
00:18have some rain. Let's take a look at the pressure pattern, the rain is coming because of this
00:23cold front but you can see it's not going anywhere very quickly and in fact if anything
00:27that front starts to work its way back towards the north-west as we go through this weekend.
00:32So periods of rain are possible, particularly by the time we get to Sunday when we have
00:36another weather front approaching from the Atlantic. Through the rest of Friday though,
00:40plenty of sunshine for the vast majority, a lot of dry weather out there and it will
00:44be feeling quite warm as well. But it's north-western Scotland where we'll see some quite heavy
00:48rain at times, that rain just clearing away from Belfast and Northern Ireland but fairly
00:53grey and patchy that rain across some western parts of Wales and also into the south-west.
00:58But ahead of it, 23 degrees in the south-east, feeling pretty warm and quite humid through
01:03the rest of the afternoon. Now as we work our way through Friday evening, we'll continue
01:08to see that rain pushing across Scotland, will be quite heavy for a time before it tends
01:12to fizzle out and anywhere really across western areas could see some fairly low cloud and
01:16bits and pieces of rain and drizzle coming and going, perhaps heavier at times in the
01:20far south-west. There'll be some mist and fog developing across parts of the Midlands,
01:25south-east England, where here it'll be a warm, fairly humid night. But look at the
01:29colours on the chart, you can see much fresher up towards the north-west. Once that rain
01:34is cleared through, it'll be much cleaner air, fresher air with clear skies and temperatures
01:38in some spots down to 2 or 3 degrees by dawn. As we start Saturday then, it will be plenty
01:43of dry and sunny weather up across Scotland and Northern Ireland. But again, anywhere
01:48through where the frontal zone is, we could see some fairly grey, fairly drab, misty conditions
01:54with some outbreaks of rain. Early morning fog will clear but then through the afternoon
01:57as the sun gets to work on those temperatures, we'll see some pretty heavy showers breaking
02:02up, particularly south-west England, south Wales, up through in towards the Midlands
02:06and Lincolnshire, could see some heavy downpours with highs here between 22 to 24 Celsius during
02:12the afternoon. And showers will continue to drift their way northwards on Saturday evening
02:17so you may catch one of those if you're heading out. Otherwise, we continue to see some outbreaks
02:21of rain across west Wales, perhaps coming heavier for a time through Saturday evening.
02:26Otherwise, for most of us, it's going to be dry and still quite warm as we go through
02:30Saturday evening. But as we head in towards Sunday, we are going to see more in the way
02:35of rain. For most of us, there will be the chance of some rain. That could be quite heavy
02:39through Sunday afternoon and evening across eastern areas. So, stay up to date with the
02:43latest across all of our social media channels. I'll be back later, take care.
