00:00Hello, over the next few days we've got high pressure dominating the weather across the
00:04UK and in the winter time that can often mean quite cloudy skies. So for many of us through
00:09the next few days we will see a lot of cloud in the sky, the risk of some fog at times
00:14too and as we go through the weekend and into next week it'll start to turn that bit colder
00:19as well. Let's take a look at the bigger picture then. High pressure is anchored to the UK
00:25at the moment, that's bringing us fairly settled weather conditions, not a lot of change but
00:30a lot of cloud out there as well. That cloud is trapped beneath that area of high pressure
00:35so it's not moving anywhere very quickly. And Friday is no different, particularly across
00:41East Anglia, parts of Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire, that's where we've got some fog
00:45that could persist through much of the day. Temperatures will struggle where we see the
00:49fog highs of just three or four degrees. For most of us it's cloudy out there, there will
00:54be one or two breaks in that cloud but I think for many of us a lot of cloud in the
00:58sky will remain the feature of the day. Temperatures struggling under the cloud as well but perhaps
01:04a little milder down towards the far south west, 11 degrees there in Plymouth with an
01:09increasing breeze then as we go through Friday evening. And that will become more of a feature
01:14of our weather through the overnight period for parts of Devon and Cornwall, quite gusty
01:18at times here. Elsewhere with lighter winds and expanse of cloud and fog returning to
01:22the map, that fog becoming more widespread and locally quite dense in places so do take
01:27care if you are travelling. Under clearer skies though, particularly for Scotland, we'll
01:31see the risk of some frost, temperatures minus two to minus four possible in some of the
01:36sheltered glens. So a cold start to Saturday morning. Quite a chilly one everywhere actually
01:42and as you go through the day on Saturday there will be again the risk of that fog persisting
01:47through much of the day. So quite grey, quite gloomy out there if you're making plans for
01:51Christmas through the afternoon, don't be surprised if you continue to see fog through
01:56much of the day. Elsewhere it will lift into low cloud, a few breaks developing in that
02:01cloud, again the best of these likely to be for Scotland, perhaps Northern Ireland. One
02:05or two breaks may be likely for western parts of Wales as well. Temperatures just down a
02:09few degrees on Friday, eights and nines at the very best but colder than that where that
02:15fog persists and then again as we go into Saturday night we'll see that fog area becoming
02:21more widespread. So some dense patches as we go into the first part of Sunday. Here's
02:27a quick snapshot to Sunday then. As I say, some fog persisting through much of the day.
02:32Quite grey, quite gloomy across England and Wales. There will be some breaks developing
02:36in that cloud as well. Some sunshine perhaps poking through for central and western parts
02:41of Scotland but all the while those temperatures continuing to slide away. Three to six degrees
02:46for many of us. We may be a little milder down towards the very far south-west. So our
02:52weather is remaining quite similar over the next few days. Do take care if you are travelling
02:57there will be the risk of some fog as I say and as we go into the early part of next week
03:02things remaining on the chilly side as we go into the run up to Christmas. Of course
03:06you can find out more information across our social media channels and I'll be back later
03:10on. Take care.
