00:00Hello, it's been another day of heavy showers across many parts of the UK and there are
00:05more to come. In fact, some lively thunderstorms into the mix as this area of low pressure
00:11crosses the UK and its associated wraparound occlusions bring some wet weather to many
00:18parts. Two areas of focus for the evening, some persistent and heavy rain for southern
00:23and south-east Scotland could cause issues on the roads and some localised flooding and
00:28areas of thunderstorms and heavy showers likely to bring some disruption to the south-east
00:33corner. But overnight, eventually the heaviest of the rain eases, the showers inland start
00:39to die away but there will still be some further damp weather coming into central and eastern
00:43Scotland as well as parts of Northern Ireland, showers into Wales and the south-west. Overall
00:48temperatures staying up at around 13 to 15 Celsius, so relatively mild at night and in
00:55some places it will be a bright start to Friday, some breaks in the cloud through central
01:00and southern parts of England, the far north of Scotland as well. And in fact, the bright
01:04skies in the north of Scotland are slowly filtering southwards during the day on Friday,
01:09so a fine day to come in the north-west of Scotland and eventually Northern Ireland.
01:13But it stays damp and gloomy for eastern and southern Scotland as well as parts of northern
01:17England and showers across the southern half of the UK once again break out widely as temperatures
01:23rise. In between the showers there will be some brighter interludes and temperatures
01:28at around 20 to 22 Celsius in the south, 18 to 20 Celsius in the north. Now the brighter
01:35skies in the far north-west, the clear skies here start to affect more western parts of
01:41the UK but through the night on Friday night into the early hours of Saturday there will
01:45be further outbreaks of rain into the north-east of England, south-east Scotland and parts
01:50of Wales as well. A brisk breeze coming in from the North Sea but overall with clear
01:55spells and cooler air starting to push into parts of the north, a little bit of fresh
02:01start to Saturday with some mist and fog patches for the north-west of Scotland for example
02:06and temperatures widely here in the single figures. But once any mist and fog in the
02:11far north clears, well it's across northern and western Scotland as well as the north-west
02:15of England, Northern Ireland where we'll see mostly fine weather on Saturday, bright
02:20skies, some cloud filling in but otherwise largely dry. Elsewhere there will still be
02:24a few showers dotted about but not as many as recent days, certainly it looks like a
02:30drier and brighter day overall. A cool breeze coming in from the North Sea will limit temperatures
02:36on the east coast but inland where we get some brightness into the low 20s once again
02:42across central and southern parts. Into Saturday night the cloud again breaks away and on Sunday
02:50another fresh start but for most Sunday starts off dry and bright, there will be some rain
02:55coming in from the north-west later.
