00:00Unbeaten as a two-year-old, Metropolitan continued his ascent this year when he became Zaraq's
00:07first Classic winner.
00:09With a group of international owners backing him, he'll begin his stud career in 2025.
00:20Metropolitan was a good two-year-old.
00:24He was, I guess, he was precocious for Zaraq.
00:29He won his first race in Dover in August, after that race that, you know, Pitt-Bradley
00:35and his team, you know, brought him to the house.
00:39And then he won a condition race in Chantilly.
00:44Three Metropolitan, you know, stayed out of my, you know, he was, he tied with the French
00:49Guinea.
00:50But he always said he had enough speed, natural speed, you know, to be at his best at three
00:56over a mile.
00:58And then, again, a mile on the straight line in Deauville.
01:03And it was only beaten by, you know, Sharon, who is obviously at his best this year.
01:08And it was a very good second to him.
01:09And he was so good over a mile, you know, I think there was maybe something else to
01:14see over ten, because he was finishing his races so, you know, so strongly.
01:19That's my only regret, that we haven't seen him over that distance.
01:23You know, he did enough at two, he did enough this year for us to retire him.
01:28And you know, he's a great addition for us, great addition for the French breeders.
01:32I think there was room for a few more early and speedy type.
01:37Metropolitan was the only, you know, classic ring son of Zarek, and he's probably the one
01:43that has shown, you know, the most frequency and speed.
01:46It's a very international partnership because, you know, Pitt-Bradley and some of his clients
01:51stayed in Reims for a few shares.
01:54We've got three in the French stud, obviously us, and our lieutenant of David Salami.
02:02He's taking a share, and Art Voltaire also.
02:07We haven't had many sons of Dubawi in France, so it's important to have, you know, that
02:13Salami in France, and he's a love crush to, you know, a lot of the Galileo line, Daniel
02:21line horse, so it makes him a very easy horse to use and open to a lot of different mares.
02:30I love the attitude about him, and for Zarek, he's got, you know, great strengths and depths,
02:37and he's a bit like a mire, you know, that balance and strength, and he walks well, he's
02:43very correct, and so, you know, I think he's going to suit, you know, loads of mare physically.
02:51When you see him, you know, you really want to breed to him.
