00:00With the move to Beech House and a new market now complete and a new stallion to promote,
00:05it has been a very exciting winter for the Shadwell team so far.
00:09Will Wright told TDN about Mustadaph, the dual group one winning son of Frankel,
00:13who has joined the roster at Shadwell to stand alongside Baeed and Mahathir.
00:17He also spoke about how the stallions have settled in at Beech House.
00:22Mustadaph has been very well received by breeders.
00:25Obviously we've got the chance to show him over the breeding stock sales
00:27and there's been a continuous flow of people coming up to see him.
00:30He was an exceptional racehorse and I'd say the joint top-rated horse in Europe,
00:33raced 128, obviously the winner of the Juddmont, winner of the Prince of Wales,
00:37the highest rated Prince of Wales winner since Dubai Millennium back in 2000,
00:41and obviously defeated a long list of group one winners and multiple group one winners
00:47in those two group one wins last year.
00:49I think people realised that he was a very impressive horse throughout his career.
00:55He's a horse with immense talent and amazing pedigree.
00:57Obviously son of Frankel out of the Bari mare, Handassa, the first son on that cross,
01:03standing in Europe.
01:05The pedigree is just packed with natural speed through his half-sister Nazif,
01:12who's obviously a two-time group one winning miler,
01:15and then back through to Pastoral Pursuits and Goodrick,
01:18who are two champion sprinters.
01:20He's got everything in his favour, an imposing quality horse.
01:25Mossadaf, his pedigree is one of the big major selling points for him.
01:29He's out of a very fast family, miling, sprinting family.
01:34Breeders realise that speed in his immediate family through his half-sister Nazif
01:42and back through Pastoral Pursuits and Goodrick champion sprinters,
01:45I think breeders can really get on to him from a commercial prospect.
01:51That speed, as we know, is important in the modern day market, rightly or wrongly,
01:56to many breeders.
01:57He's got everything, obviously son of Frankel,
02:01and the ability to win stakes races over a mile.
02:04He won on debut over seven, won by four lengths over seven furlongs,
02:08and two winning stakes races over a mile,
02:11to then winning group ones over a mile and a quarter.
02:14Just an incredibly talented racehorse.
02:17Mossadaf is a very strong, imposing horse, athletic,
02:20got a really good quality around him.
02:23You mentioned his temperament, since he's come here he hasn't really turned a hair,
02:28his temperament's been remarkable.
02:30As you can see, he's settled into his new life here at Shadwell Beach House very well.
02:37Breeders coming along and seeing him and examining him,
02:41and they say physically he really does take the eye,
02:44so he's going down very well.
02:46The move to Beach House is very exciting for all concerned.
02:49Obviously this is a stud of great history,
02:52being home to past greats, Capello, St Paddy, the list could go on,
02:57but obviously Nyarko is the headline name there,
03:00and one of the world's most influential sires in the thoroughbred breed,
03:05so Mossadaf's currently standing in his box.
03:08It's a place of great history, we've come in,
03:11obviously Shadwell have had the stud,
03:13and used it previously more from a mare and foal perspective,
03:17but to have the stallions back standing at Beach House is a very exciting time.
03:24It's back in the heart of Newmarket,
03:27I think it's very exciting for Sheikahissa and the family
03:30to position themselves back in the home of horse racing,
03:34and it's very exciting.
