00:00Hello, very good morning to you. There has been some fairly wet weather overnight and
00:05there's still some heavy persistent rain across parts of Scotland first thing this morning.
00:09Watch out for a bit of flooding, some difficult driving conditions here, even elsewhere some
00:13hefty showery rain around and this is likely to cause a few impacts in some spots. But
00:19as we go into the afternoon, actually things may turn a little bit drier for some of us.
00:24There will still be plenty of showers around, but I think particularly across parts of England
00:28and Wales, a greater chance of seeing something a bit drier, perhaps even a bit brighter.
00:32Even western parts of Scotland and maybe Northern Ireland could see something a little bit drier
00:36and brighter for a time. Watch out for some blustery winds and these will add to the cool
00:41feel to things. Temperatures are several degrees below average for the time of year, mid to
00:46high teens Celsius at best, possibly just about scraping into the low 20s. But yeah,
00:51that is a bit disappointing for this stage in summer. More showers to come as we go through
00:56this evening and they could still be a bit on the heavy side. But overnight, many of
01:00the showers are actually going to ease and clear away and there will then be some clear
01:04skies developing across many parts. Under these clear skies, it's going to be a bit
01:09fresh, especially for the fact that it is July. Temperatures quite widely just about
01:13staying in double digits or falling into single figures in some more rural areas. So a bit
01:18of a fresh start to things first thing on Sunday morning. But in the west here, we already
01:24have some showers developing quite quickly on. As we go through the day, after a sunny
01:30start across eastern parts, the showers in the west are going to become more widespread,
01:34more frequent. Most of us are going to see some showers at some point. They will be hit
01:40or miss at times. And so not everywhere will necessarily see the heavy downpours, but there
01:45will be some torrential rain around, even a bit of hail, a bit of thunder mixed in with
01:51and some sunny breaks. But I think it's the showers most of us are going to notice. The
01:55showers could affect play at Wimbledon and they could come during the British Grand Prix
02:00at Silverstone as well. Temperatures are still going to be on the low side. The winds will
02:05be a bit lighter on Sunday compared to today. So it may feel that little bit warmer, especially
02:11if you do get any bright or sunny spells in between those hefty showers. But on the whole,
02:15it is still going to feel a bit disappointing for the time of year. More showers to come
02:20as we go through Sunday evening. They will then largely die out for a time. And so Monday
02:25at the moment looks like it could be largely dry, at least to start off with, before more
02:31wet weather arrives as we go through towards the middle part of the week. And that rain
02:35could be heavy at times, too. We are suggesting that temperatures will pick up. They are several
02:40degrees below average for the time of year at the moment. And I think they're going to
02:44rise close to average for a time. How much, how long that slightly warmer spell lasts,
02:49where there's some uncertainty. And there may be some drier weather mixed in with the
02:54generally changeable theme next week. As a result, it is worth staying up to date with
02:58our forecasts across our YouTube channel because we want to keep an eye on exactly how unsettled
03:04next week's going to be. Bye bye.
