00:00Hello, very good day to you. The not-so-summery feel to the weather continues as we go through
00:05today. There will be some rain around, especially towards the south because of a waving front
00:10here. That's then going to bring some more rain overnight before that clears away with
00:15a showery theme then following behind for both the rest of Saturday and also Sunday
00:20and other systems then waiting to come up from the southwest as we go into the beginning
00:24of next week. But if we look at things in a little bit more detail and starting off
00:29with this afternoon, like I said, across far southern parts, a bit cloudy, a bit wet
00:33here because of that frontal system, particularly around English Channel coastal areas. But
00:37as we go through the afternoon, some more persistent rain spreading across Devon, Cornwall
00:42into Somerset as well. Across parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, it's going to be a showery
00:47day. Not as many showers as on Thursday and they're not looking quite as intense, but
00:52some hefty showers are still quite likely. In between these areas, so across some parts
00:57of northern England and Wales, there should be some decent dry, if not bright and sunny
01:02weather around. And it's here we're most likely to get the highest temperatures, high teens,
01:07low 20s perhaps. It's not feeling too bad in the sunshine, but elsewhere where it's
01:11cloudy, where it's wet and there could be some brisk winds towards the north, it is
01:15going to feel pretty cool for the time of year. More wet weather then feeding in from
01:20the southwest as we go overnight. So we are going to see some heavy persistent rain spilling
01:25its way north-eastwards across parts of England, perhaps Wales as well, as we go through this
01:29evening and overnight, eventually clearing away towards the North Sea as we head towards
01:33the early hours of tomorrow morning. There's also some heavy rain developing across some
01:38parts of northern Scotland, particularly around the Inverness area. We could see in excess
01:42of 50 millimetres perhaps building up, so that could cause some localised flooding here.
01:47And otherwise, there will be some clear breaks around once that persistent rain clears away,
01:52but also some showery rain feeding in from the west. So a fairly changeable unsettled
01:56night for many of us. And because of that, temperatures not dropping a huge amount. That
02:00being said, in some prone rural spots where we get any clear skies, it will dip into single
02:06figures, perhaps mid-single figures in some places. So a little bit fresher than some
02:10recent nights because we have some relatively cool air across us at the moment. Saturday
02:15then is going to be a showery day for many of us and those showers are going to be quite
02:20heavy, quite persistent at times. And there's a good chance most of us will see some hefty
02:25showers at times, particularly across northern areas. I think that's where they're going
02:28to be most frequent. But even further south, some showers are pretty likely, though perhaps
02:32easing a little bit as we go through the afternoon. Nonetheless, there is a risk of some showery
02:37rain affecting Wimbledon could stop play for a little bit of time. Again, there is still
02:41that cool feel to things. Temperatures staying mid to high teens at best. We may just about
02:47scrape into the low 20s, perhaps. But really, it is going to be a bit disappointing, perhaps
02:52for the time of year. The showers will gradually start to ease and clear away as we go through
02:57this evening. There will still be some heavy ones for a time, but turning a little bit
03:01dry as we go through Saturday night and overnight into Sunday. But if we dart ahead and look
03:06at Sunday, then a dry start for many, particularly across central and eastern parts. Good little
03:11sunshine first thing before then a rash of showers develops across pretty much the whole
03:15of the UK. And again, some of these showers are likely to be heavy and possibly thundery
03:20at times, too. There's a fairly good chance that pretty much anywhere will catch a shower.
03:25So a reasonable chance that the British Grand Prix could get affected by the odd downpour,
03:29perhaps. The winds will be a bit lighter than on Saturday, but we still have that cool feel
03:35to things. Temperatures staying mid to high teen Celsius at best for most places. So again,
03:40a little disappointing for the time of year. We will, of course, keep you up to date with
03:44the forecast as we go through this weekend. So make sure you subscribe to our YouTube
03:49channel and never miss an update. Bye bye.
