00:00Hello, welcome to a rather soggy Tuesday. There's going to be rain across many parts
00:06because of a weather system that's pushed in overnight. An area of low pressure and
00:10associated fronts have made their way north-eastwards across many parts of England and Wales. So,
00:15it's a wet start across the southern half of the UK, heavy persistent rain for a time.
00:20That rain then continued to make its way northwards as we go through the day, pushing into parts
00:24of Scotland and Northern Ireland as we go into the afternoon. Something a little bit
00:28drier following across many parts of England and Wales by mid-afternoon. But there will
00:33still be some outbreaks of rain around and not a huge amount of sunshine. Some bright
00:37or sunny spells will develop and in these, not feeling too bad, temperatures peaking
00:41around 21 or 22 Celsius. But those temperatures are generally a little bit below average elsewhere,
00:48especially under that band of rain here. It's going to be quite cool for the time of year.
00:54The front, though, does continue northwards as we go through this evening. So, more rain
00:58spilling across much of Scotland and Northern Ireland. The rain turning particularly heavy
01:03across some northern parts of Scotland as we go into Wednesday. Further south, some
01:07drier weather, some outbreaks of showery rain and a few clear breaks perhaps. But many places
01:13staying quite cloudy and with the fairly unsettled theme, again, temperatures not dropping a
01:17huge amount. Another mild start to the day for many of us across England and Wales and
01:22a milder start than this morning across Scotland and Northern Ireland because of the rain that
01:27will be sitting here. Like I said, it is going to be especially wet across northern parts
01:32of Scotland. Here, totals really building up, especially over the Grampians, for example,
01:36we could see in excess of 90 millimetres. Do watch out for some travel disruption and
01:40also some localised flooding as a result. Across Northern Ireland and the rest of Scotland
01:46and Northern England, it's going to stay pretty cloudy, further outbreaks of rain. A drier
01:50and brighter story across the rest of England and Wales. A few showery bursts perhaps, but
01:56generally fine and increasing amounts of sunshine as we go through the afternoon, particularly
02:01towards parts of the southwest. In terms of temperatures, they're still generally a little
02:06bit below average for the time of year, peaking perhaps around 22 or 23 Celsius in the south
02:12where we see the best of any sunshine. And again, feeling relatively unpleasant under
02:16that wet weather across more northern parts as we go through the day. As we go through
02:21the rest of the week, there is more changeable weather to come, perhaps something a little
02:25bit drier by the weekend. We'll keep you up to date on our YouTube channel.
