00:00Hello there. Welcome to your Wednesday morning weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Today, for many, it will be dry with some warm sunshine.
00:08However, more cloud will slowly roll in across the north-west of Scotland with some patchy rain.
00:13Elsewhere, a ridge of high pressure extends across the country
00:16and it will be with us through summer solstice, the longest day as well, so lighter winds here.
00:21Come Friday, we'll see a bit more cloud just push in from the Atlantic across the western side of the country
00:26and we could even see some patchy rain.
00:29Now, for the time being, it's fine this morning.
00:31It's a bit chilly across Scotland and Northern Ireland inland.
00:34Temperatures have dipped down to single figures yet again.
00:37Some hazy sunshine across the north-west before the cloud thickens here.
00:41And through the first part of the day, we are seeing more cloud across England and Wales, but it is breaking up.
00:45So, some fine weather coming through through the afternoon, strong sunshine, high UV levels as well.
00:50A bit of a breeze down towards Kent as well as Essex
00:53and the wind will pick up some strength across the western isles through the afternoon
00:56with some patchy rain just moving in across the highlands.
00:59However, in the sunshine, temperatures 18 or 19 for Scotland, 19 for Northern Ireland,
01:0420 across England and Wales, but 22 down towards the southeast.
01:08Now, it turns cool yet again through tonight and into tomorrow,
01:12particularly across central and eastern areas of the country.
01:15This cloud and rain could produce one or two spots as we head into Thursday morning,
01:20just pushing down towards the central belt elsewhere.
01:23It's a dry end to the night.
01:25We could see a bit more cloud across Northern Ireland to start the day on Thursday.
01:29So, Thursday dawns bright for most with some sunny spells yet again.
01:34It's summer solstice, so make the most of the sunshine.
01:37Through the day, we watch as an area of showery rain just moves up across the Channel Islands.
01:42It could just about clip the far south of England through the afternoon,
01:46temperatures though rising to around 20 to 24 Celsius.
01:49So, it's going to be a warm day with a lighter breeze and drier further northwest.
01:54Your outlook then through Friday, more cloud across the north as well as the west,
01:58even with some rain, brighter and drier further south and east,
02:02and temperatures yet again around 20 to 24 Celsius.
02:05Have a lovely day. Bye bye.
