11 April - National weather forecast presented by Annie Shuttleworth
Transcript
00:00Hello, good morning. It's going to be a much drier and brighter day, particularly if you're
00:04in the north and east through today. But across the south, the rain band has arrived overnight
00:09and that's going to linger for much of the day, bringing cloudier skies, probably some
00:13drizzly rain from time to time across many southern counties. But it's in the southwest
00:17where I think the rain could turn a little bit persistent over the coast and hills. Elsewhere,
00:22though, it should stay largely dry. There'll be plenty of dry and bright weather, some
00:26sunshine too, particularly across the east coast through the middle of the morning. The
00:30sunshine will turn a little bit hazier as the day goes on, but it's still going to feel
00:34very warm, particularly compared to lately. Highs of 19, 20 degrees across the southeast,
00:39but up towards the high teens all the way up the east coast towards the north of Scotland.
00:45Through this evening, this area of rain will return in from the southwest, pushing into
00:49parts of Northern Ireland, probably across much of Scotland throughout this evening.
00:53Further south, it'll probably turn a little bit cloudier, some drizzly rain across parts
00:56of Wales, quite a lot of cloud around for many areas of England and Wales as well. Southwestly
01:01winds as well keep the temperatures up overnight tonight, so it'll be another very mild start
01:06to the day tomorrow. But as I said, there's going to be quite a bit more cloud around,
01:10particularly through Friday morning, away from the very north coast of Scotland where
01:14it could stay fairly dry and bright to start the day. And across Northern Ireland, western
01:18areas of Scotland, it'll likely stay fairly overcast through Friday. Further south, after
01:23the cloudiest start, there is a good chance of seeing some brightness later on in the day,
01:27particularly across parts of the Midlands, the east coast of England as well. Across the west,
01:32though, with that wind coming in off the warm sea, we'll continue to see quite a lot of cloud
01:36around across the south coast and west coast of Wales, the southwest coast of England as well.
01:42It should be another very mild day, particularly for the time of year, not quite as warm as
01:46Thursday because there won't be as much sunshine around, but we could still reach 19 degrees in
01:51the southeast on Friday. Rain will continue to move into northwestern areas into the weekend,
01:57and it will turn a little bit cooler. But you can find out more details on our full
02:00weekend forecast out later on today on YouTube. Have a great day. Bye bye.
