00:00Good afternoon. For some of us, there's a risk of some very torrential downpours and
00:04thunderstorms through this afternoon. But for many of us, it will be a fairly dry day.
00:09However, through this morning, we did see some very heavy rain move across eastern areas
00:13of England, some thunderstorms in the Birmingham area. However, that's clearing away into the
00:17North Sea and behind it, it's turning much drier and clearer just for a time. But once
00:22this sunshine gets to work across parts of the Midlands, southern areas of England, parts
00:26of southeast Wales as well, that's when these thunderstorms will likely start to break out.
00:31So there is a warning in force for these areas. Now, further north, after a bit of a cloudiest
00:35start across western areas of Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland, it will brighten
00:38up here as well. It's going to be a warmer day across northern areas, but there is a
00:42next band of rain arriving for this evening. And even across southern areas, there will
00:47still be some brightness. But where we have this warning area, particularly for central
00:51and southern areas of England, there's a risk of some very heavy thunderstorms that
00:56could bring flooding, travel delays, lightning, gusty winds and hail. As I said, not everywhere,
01:02even in this warning area, we'll see the thunderstorms, but they've got the potential to bring some
01:07impacts well into this evening. So the warning is in force until midnight. It's going to
01:12be a humid day, as you'd expect, with that risk of thunderstorms. And across northern
01:16areas, a warmer day than yesterday and fairly pleasant in any sunshine with quite light
01:21winds as well. And it should stay drier for many northern and western areas overnight
01:25tonight. But these thunderstorms will likely continue through the first part of the night,
01:28pushing into eastern areas of England in particular. But it should turn dry here even by the morning.
01:35Across the west, though, we do have this weather front moving in for the early hours of Friday.
01:40And that weather front is going to introduce much fresher air as well. Ahead of it, though,
01:44it's still going to be a fairly muggy night. Temperatures once again in the high teens.
01:48They could not dip much below 20 degrees in parts of southern England. Slightly fresher,
01:53though, further north. So a bright start to the day on Friday. There is a risk of some
01:58further heavy showers moving across eastern areas of England. But for many of us, there's
02:02plenty of dry and warm weather on the cards for Friday. But as I said, a change is on
02:08the way through Friday afternoon into Northern Ireland and Scotland. This band of quite blustery
02:12rain will push in through the afternoon. So it will change as we head into the afternoon
02:17here behind it. It's turning much fresher temperatures dipping down into the teens.
02:21But ahead of it once again, another warm and humid day, even where we do see this rain,
02:27I think it's still still going to hold on to that humid feel through much of tomorrow.
02:31However, the fresher air will become much more widespread as we head into the weekend
02:36as this band of rain drifts south and eastwards, pushing into parts of England and Wales through
02:41Friday night and into the start of the weekend as well. If you'd like further details on
02:45your full weekend forecast, check out our YouTube channel. And don't forget to keep
02:49up to date with the warnings through today. Bye bye.
