00:00Hello, good evening. Thursday is going to be a much drier and brighter day for most
00:04areas of the UK. However, for the next few hours, there's still some very heavy rain
00:09to come across the north-west. Rain warnings still in force for parts of western Scotland.
00:14The main band of rain will sink further southwards through the day into parts of north-western
00:18England. Cumbria could see some very heavy rain through this evening. And then it pushes
00:21into Wales, the Midlands, where it could turn heavy for a time, but it's generally going
00:25to weaken as a feature. So, although you will likely see some drizzly rain, it's unlikely
00:29to bring you any impacts. However, by Thursday morning, the rain band will sit across the
00:34south coast, where it tends to create these sort of waving features, which will keep it
00:38across the south through much of Thursday. Further north, though, it'll turn much clearer
00:43and drier. There's fairly brisk south-westerly winds to come through tonight. That'll hold
00:48the temperatures up well above 10 degrees for most areas. We could be at 13 degrees
00:52across some parts of the south by tomorrow morning. So, a mild start, quite a dry and
00:57bright start as well, particularly across the north and east. The best of sunshine will
01:02be through the middle part of the morning. I think as the afternoon progresses, the sunshine
01:06will turn that much hazier as this band of rain starts to return from the south and west.
01:11And actually, across the south-west of England, south-west of Wales as well, it'll likely
01:15stay quite dull, possibly a bit drizzly through much of the day. So, it's going to be a bit
01:20cooler here compared to elsewhere, but I think wherever you are, you will definitely notice
01:24the humidity as it will start to be a little bit muggy. But highs of 20 degrees are possible
01:29across parts of the south-east, but actually even up towards the north coast of Scotland,
01:34we could see highs of about 17 or 18 degrees. So, definitely a different feeling day compared
01:39to today for most areas. However, the rain will return to the north-west through Thursday
01:44evening and it'll continue to stay fairly damp here into Friday as well. Further south,
01:49though, we'll continue to see dry weather dominating, but there's going to be quite
01:53a lot of cloud around most likely. However, that will keep the temperatures up once again,
01:58so it's going to be another very mild night for most areas of the UK on Thursday night.
02:02So, mild start to the day on Friday. And as I said, quite a lot of cloud around to start
02:06the day away from the far north of Scotland. That cloud should break up and allow some
02:11brightness by Friday afternoon, but it's across Northern Ireland and western areas of Scotland
02:15where it will stay quite overcast with drizzly rain. The rain won't be as heavy as it has
02:20been earlier on in the week and I think eastern areas of Scotland should stay largely dry.
02:25Again, with plenty of warm air around, temperatures will climb into the high teens. It won't be
02:29quite as warm as Thursday just because there won't be as much sunshine, but it's still
02:33going to feel fairly warm for the time of year. Looking ahead to the weekend, well,
02:38the rain will continue to affect northern areas, but it does look like it will turn
02:42a little bit cooler. But you can find more details on your weekend forecast with our
02:46latest 10-day trend with Alex on YouTube. See you later.
