00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. Now Wednesday
00:04was a very windy day across the northern half of the UK. The cold front clearing
00:08southwards does have some gusty winds associated with it but this yellow
00:13warning for wind across Scotland, northern England, the far north of
00:16Northern Ireland expires through Wednesday evening as this front clears
00:20towards the Low Countries and then a ridge extends from the south across
00:23England and Wales but still windy across the far north and some colder air before
00:28this milder air moves in from the west through Thursday and into Friday
00:32heralding some relatively high temperatures by night but also some
00:36gusty winds through Friday especially across eastern parts of Scotland,
00:39north-east England. Now through Wednesday evening this band of rain will have some
00:43gusty winds associated with it. It's clearing towards southern counties and
00:48then we'll see clearer and drier weather. Now the strong winds across the north
00:52will deliver showers across Scotland, wintry above around two to four hundred
00:56meters and we'll see some patchy frost in the countryside as temperatures dip
01:00down close to freezing in Shelter. Now these showers through Thursday morning
01:05will continue and we'll see some brighter weather to start the day
01:09across eastern counties of England, eastern Scotland but this cloud is
01:12rolling in from the west so a cloudier day for Northern Ireland yet again, Wales
01:16and the West Country. More cloud also across western Scotland later as these
01:21showers fade away and we see the onset of further spells of rain. A lighter
01:25breeze across England and Wales and any sunshine you see will be rather hazy
01:30that cloud just coming and going as temperatures rise to around eight or
01:34nine degrees Celsius. But the rain across the northwest of Scotland will be
01:38fairly persistent heavy at times adding to the rainfall totals across this area
01:43and certainly a stronger wind here. Now through Thursday night and into Friday
01:47it remains relatively mild across these parts as this warm front pushes towards
01:52the northeast. The cloud extends southwards but it will remain damp
01:56across western facing coasts and hills with more persistent rain across the
02:00western highlands and again a stronger wind. That wind turns gusty into Friday
02:05across more eastern areas and further south to start the day on Friday
02:08temperatures a little bit lower four to five degrees Celsius so a colder start
02:12here but certainly mild across Northern Ireland, Northern England and Scotland
02:16it will be wet. So through Friday morning we watch as this rain just comes and
02:21goes across these parts. Now we'll see some gusty winds over the highlands but
02:25temperatures will recover it's going to turn mild here with a bit of a fern
02:29effect happening as this cold front sinks down towards Northern Ireland
02:32Southern Scotland and Northern England. To the south of that it's a breezy day
02:35damp towards more western areas but inland towards the east we'll see some
02:39brighter moments from time to time. I'll see you later.
