00:00Hello. Something hotter on the way for the end of the week but for the time
00:04being it's a fairly fresh Wednesday in the wake of Storm Polly. This is the
00:09imagery through the night satellite and radar showing a lot of heavy rain across
00:12the south. Very wet start to the day across parts of East Anglia. Now that
00:17swirl of cloud is clearing away. Let's show that again. Some heavy rain through
00:22the night across the south and then you see this big swirl. It's been named
00:25Storm Polly by the German Weather Service and the hook of that storm just
00:29passing by through the hook of Holland. Some very strong winds here through the
00:33course of Wednesday morning. We are in the wake of that storm system and
00:38basically a fresh bright day with a mixture of sunshine and showers. The
00:42showers tending to zip through on a fairly brisk breeze. Not too many across
00:46the south. In fact quite a good part of the country will probably only see one
00:50or two showers and many will stay completely dry. When the Sun pops out
00:53and it is a bit brighter than yesterday certainly across Wales, Southern England
00:57and Northern Ireland temperatures getting up into the high teens maybe low
01:0020s across the southeast corner. So still feeling fairly fresh especially with the
01:05breeze and the showers and there will still be a fair few showers to dodge
01:09through this evening but tending to fade away fairly rapidly. We'll keep some
01:13going across northern and western Scotland but most will become dry by
01:17midnight and many will stay dry through the early hours. A bit more cloud by then
01:21though pushing back in towards Northern Ireland. It will be a cooler night as
01:25well. Temperatures generally holding up in double digits in towns and cities but
01:29many rural spots will be well down into single figures. So a cooler start to
01:34Thursday. For most of England and Wales it'll be a dry fine day. The same goes for
01:37eastern Scotland. Quite a bit of sunshine on offer here but there will still be a
01:41few showers for Wales, southwest England, northern England, southern Scotland in
01:45the morning and then look at this. The cloud thickening through the morning
01:48with outbreaks of rain and a strengthening wind heading into
01:52Northern Ireland. We're getting quite breezy on all western coasts come the
01:56afternoon. That wind is coming up from the south or southwest so it is bringing
01:59milder air. Temperatures with a bit more sunshine tomorrow a little bit higher
02:04generally into the 20s widely across England and Wales. 23 maybe 24 across the
02:09southeast. But with the rain coming into Northern Ireland temperatures here only
02:1316 or 17 and feeling a lot cooler with that strengthening wind and that rain
02:17will continue to work into western Scotland as well. So eventually arriving
02:21in Glasgow pushing up the west coast and again turning blustery as that wet
02:25weather works in across a good part of Scotland by Thursday night and parts of
02:30western England and Wales also likely to see some showers from this weather
02:33system. You can see there that swirl it's an area of low pressure that is moving
02:37its way up towards the northwest bringing that wet and windy weather. The
02:41ice bar squeezing together. There's another little weather system waiting
02:44down to the southwest. But all the while as that system's moving up it's bringing
02:49with it warmer and warmer air. So we are likely to see temperatures really jump
02:54up through Friday and into Saturday particularly over eastern England. Heat
02:57humidity may then spark some thunderstorms. So plenty going on in the
03:01longer term. Join me for the 10-day trend later on YouTube. So make sure you hit
