00:00Hello, welcome to your national weather update. Things brightening up today and
00:04then hotting up over the next few days. High pressure is moving in. It's a big
00:10area of high pressure. It's taking its time. We do have a couple of weather
00:14fronts. This disintegrating weather front, this cold front, has introduced
00:18slightly cooler air and brought quite a bit of clouds this morning. But that
00:21cloud is now breaking up. Most places seeing sunny spells. Another weather
00:25front bringing thicker cloud to the highlands, bit of drizzly rain here and
00:29across the Northern Isles. Temperatures responding to the sunshine getting up
00:33into the low 20s, mid 20s, maybe 26 across the southeast. A little cooler on some
00:38coasts and cooler where there's a brisk breeze blowing across Western Scotland.
00:43And we do have that thicker cloud from that weather front. That will continue to
00:46bring some drizzle through this evening and overnight across the highlands in
00:49particular. A bit more cloud will spill into southwest Scotland, Northern Ireland
00:53and eventually through the early hours into northwest England, maybe even into
00:58the Midlands. But much of the south and east will stay dry and clear and
01:01temperatures a little lower than last night's, but still in the teens in most
01:06places. On to Friday and it's another fine day. If you like sunshine, southern
01:12England, eastern England starting sunny and staying that way. Parts of northwest
01:16England taking a while to brighten up along with parts of Scotland. But even
01:20here eventually mostly turning sunny. Just this zone of thicker cloud likely
01:24to persist over parts of the north of Northern Ireland, southwest Scotland
01:27where there will be a little bit of drizzle and still quite breezy across
01:30the north as well. Temperatures here close to average but further south or
01:36widely into the mid 20s, 27, 28 as possible across the southeast. That's a
01:42zone of thicker cloud with drizzly rain will continue to trickle a little
01:47further south as we go through Friday evening. But again most places will be
01:51drier, balmy Friday evening for the south and so there's more fine weather to come
01:56as we go into the weekend. Slight complication that there are these
01:59weather fronts just dangling through this area of high pressure. They will
02:03continue to bring more cloud at times to parts of Scotland and some drizzly
02:08conditions in the far northwest. But generally this high is moving in and as
02:11it continues to move in temperatures will build. Perhaps not as high on
02:15Saturday as Friday but back up on Sunday to quite widely across the south in the
02:20mid to high 20s once more. Again some coasts will be cooler and again
02:25northwest Scotland will be a little more comfortable as well with
02:28temperatures here more likely in the high teens or the low 20s. But
02:31temperatures could rise further for all of us as we go into next week. For more
02:37details on that make sure you stay up to date with the Met Office. Best way to do
02:41that of course is to follow us right across social media.
