00:00Welcome along to your national weather update. Most places having a fine Monday.
00:04There are a few showers around but generally it's dry for much of the
00:08country and a little bit of sunshine too. However that sunshine is disappearing in
00:12the west because there's a large area of cloud. It's an area of low pressure not
00:16particularly intense but it is going to bring some damp weather through the
00:20night and into Tuesday across the south. But before we get there as I said many
00:25places dry and bright today. The main exception is Scotland where we do have
00:28quite a few showers drifting through and they could turn quite heavy in a few
00:31places during the late afternoon into the evening. One or two showers possible
00:35for Northern Ireland, Northern England but most of England and Wales dry and
00:39bright. Some cloud, some sunny spells, temperatures still around or a touch
00:43below average at high teens or low 20s. The cloud will be thickening in the far
00:48southwest. We saw it earlier and that will bring maybe one or two light
00:52showers in here during the evening as well. We'll continue with the threat of
00:56some heavier showers across northern Scotland well into the evening but even
01:00here they should tend to fade overnight. Slightly clear skies across Scotland,
01:03Northern Ireland, Northern England will allow it to turn a bit chilly down into
01:07single figures in rural spots. Further south will mostly stay in the teens but
01:11that cloud will make for a grey damp drizzly start across the coasts of South
01:17Wales, West Wales and South West England. And that thicker cloud with a little
01:21drizzly rain will push towards the Midlands and eventually across the
01:24southeast. After a bright start here it will turn quite grey by the
01:27afternoon but for much of Northern England, Northern Ireland, Central and
01:31Southern Scotland it's another fine day on Tuesday and across the far north a
01:35bit of a breeze, one or two showers but even here too some sunny spells.
01:38Temperatures again generally still below average for August, high teens in most
01:44places at best but there are signs of a bit of a change. Still some damp and
01:49drizzly weather through Tuesday evening across the southeast but out west
01:54notice there's a line of rain pushing in towards the Republic of Ireland. Now
01:58that is a warm front, it's going to drift its way northwards as we go through the
02:04course of Tuesday night and into Wednesday. It's not going to bring too
02:07much in the way of rain but it's a warm front so it's wafting in warmer air so
02:10the combination of this high pressure and that warm front means it will turn
02:13warmer through Wednesday and into Thursday. May not last all that long, this
02:18cold front is set to swoosh all that warmth away as we head towards the
02:22weekend but certainly for a couple of days something a little warmer on the
02:25way later this week. For a full week ahead forecast find out how warm it
02:29could get check out our YouTube channel we'll have a week ahead forecast on
02:33there by Monday afternoon.
