26 June - National weather forecast presented by Alex Deakin.

00:00Hello. You've probably noticed a fresher feel after what was a pretty warm and humid weekend.
00:06For most of us, things have turned cooler and a bit more comfortable.
00:10And that's because our weather is now coming in from the Atlantic.
00:13There's a large area of cloud out here. That's not with us today.
00:16But it is an area of low pressure that will affect us over the next couple of days.
00:20We've had high pressure nearby, but it's starting to get pushed away to the south.
00:25And although many places will see sunny spells today, there are a few showers drifting in from the west.
00:30And we'll continue to feed those showers in.
00:32Of course, parts of northern England, North Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
00:36Even the odd heavier one, particularly in the early afternoon before they start to fade.
00:40A few showers in the south, but most places here staying dry.
00:44Temperatures not as high as they were at the weekend.
00:46In fact, for most, pretty bang on average high teens across parts of Scotland.
00:50Low 20s elsewhere, maybe up to 23 or 24 across the southeast with some lengthy spells of sunshine.
00:55But it's less humid. It does feel fresher, particularly when the showers come along.
00:59Now, for many, we won't see those showers and they'll fade even from northeast England and eastern Scotland fairly rapidly through the evening time.
01:07So most places will have a dry night with clear spells.
01:10But then that's where the system we saw earlier, that big massive cloud starts to bring some rain towards Northern Ireland and western Scotland by dawn.
01:17It won't be a really warm and humid night, certainly compared to the weekend.
01:21But temperatures in many towns and cities will stay in the teens.
01:24A warm and humid air is going to return at least temporarily with this area of cloud and rain.
01:29It's going to be a damp day across Northern Ireland on Tuesday.
01:32That rain will spread in across much of Scotland as well and eventually into parts of Wales and across northern England as well.
01:38Parts of northeast England, the far northeast of Scotland, probably not seeing much rain until late in the day.
01:43And even where it is damp, the rain won't be too heavy, except maybe over the hills.
01:47The Midlands, southern England, south Wales generally just dry here, but with increasing amounts of cloud through the day.
01:53And as a result, it won't be as warm temperatures again.
01:56High teens across the north, but feeling cooler than today and in the south into the low 20s.
02:02But it will be quite a warm and humid night as all this cloud spills in.
02:06It's going to be quite misty and murky on the coast.
02:09The rain, as I said at this stage, nothing too heavy.
02:12But we could see some heavier bursts as this weather system gets going during the course of Wednesday.
02:17Some uncertainty about the timing intensity as this cold front swings across the country.
02:22But it could bring some heavier bursts during Wednesday night and even into Thursday for a time across the southeast.
02:27Then another weather system swinging in for Friday and into the weekend.
02:31So the weather much more changeable through this week and with everything coming in from the Atlantic, as I said, a fresher feel as well.
