00:00Hello there, hope you're enjoying your weekend so far. Many of us have gotten used to relatively
00:06cloudy skies over recent weeks and Saturday also brought us scenes like this in Suffolk,
00:11grey skies with puddles on the ground for anyone who's brave enough to jump in. But
00:17there are signs that things are changing as we head into April. These were the scenes
00:22in Wales on Saturday afternoon brightening up quite nicely really this lovely shot from
00:27Ponty Pryd and as we head throughout the second half of the weekend and into the new
00:32week more of us will have scenes like this. These changes are in part due to high pressure
00:37that is building its way in from the Atlantic and helping to settle things down and decaying
00:43these weather fronts away. For Saturday evening though those fronts are still very much in
00:48place so if we start our weather story there we'll have further outbreaks of rain across
00:53northwest Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland as well. Some further bits of drizzle
00:59and light rain into eastern areas of England as well. Generally around the fringes of the
01:05UK we will see some clearer intervals developing but it's in the east where we see that easterly
01:09breeze feeding in from Scandinavia and the North Sea that's just feeding in some slightly
01:14cooler air and so temperatures here will drop off a bit more overnight down to twos, threes
01:19across Aberdeen and Newcastle but generally elsewhere only up around five, six, maybe
01:24seven degrees Celsius. It's in the west where we'll hold on to a bit more of that cloud
01:29as we head throughout Sunday certainly across parts of central Scotland and eventually into
01:34Northern Ireland, Wales and southwest England but with that air still coming in from the
01:39North Sea that's drier and going to help clear out some of that cloud so the Scottish borders
01:44down into central areas of England and Wales it will turn into quite a nice fine and dry
01:50day for many of us. It will though be slightly breezy across parts of the southeast certainly
01:55East Anglia down into Kent could be a bit chilly in here if you are directly on the
02:00coastlines and we will still see temperatures here hovering around single figures but as
02:05you move further inland generally not doing too badly for the time of year. Highs between
02:10ten and thirteen degrees Celsius. Into Sunday evening that cloud in the west will continue
02:16to break its way off like we've seen in the east and many of us will hold on to some clear
02:21skies overnight. So whilst it will remain dry that's also going to allow temperatures
02:25to drop off more widely compared to Saturday night and certainly for parts of eastern Scotland
02:31down into England and Wales we could see a frost developing down to lows of minus one
02:36in some towns and cities but perhaps a bit lower than that in some rural locations as
02:40well. Holding up a bit more across parts of Northern Ireland far north west of Scotland
02:44where we've got a bit more in the way of high base clouds still filtering its way in and
02:49generally the cloud will be a bit more persistent through here on Monday as well. So the sunshine
02:54hazier in the north west but for many of us there will be a good amount of sparkling sunshine
02:59and the start of the new week and the Easter holidays if you are off for that is looking
03:04pretty fine and dry and pleasant for many of us. Again temperatures around average for
03:10the time of year between ten thirteen degrees Celsius once again. Whilst it won't be as
03:15breezy in the south east we probably will see though the breeze picking up a bit more
03:19across certainly the Outer Hebrides and generally northwestern areas of Scotland. High pressure
03:25is wanting to stay in charge as we move throughout the rest of the week but it's coming up with
03:30a bit of a battle and you'll see the first of those weather fronts and rain bands wanting
03:36to push their way in here. Whilst this one might not make it all the way into the UK
03:41there are further fronts that will continue to push their way in from the west. High pressure
03:47just about staying in charge but as we move towards the middle of the week though you
03:50could start to see some of that rain pushing its way into Northern Ireland and Scotland.
03:54Still some uncertainty in regards to how quickly or how far eastwards some of those fronts
03:59will progress but we will certainly keep you up to date on the full forecast and you
04:04can follow all of our updates on social media and we'll be back here on the app on the website
04:10and on YouTube very shortly. Bye bye.
