00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04After a pretty fine and settled start for almost all of us for this week, things are
00:09set to turn a bit wetter as we head towards Wednesday and it's thanks to these weather
00:12fronts that are gradually going to push their way in from the Atlantic and make their way
00:16eastwards across the UK into Thursday as well.
00:19Into Tuesday evening it's already arriving into Northern Ireland and the rain will gradually
00:23shift its way into western areas of Scotland as well.
00:26We could see some heavier bursts at times, particularly for parts of Dumfries, Galloway
00:29and some upslope areas.
00:31It will also turn quite breezy as this rain moves in, particularly through the Irish Sea
00:35and the Isle of Man could see gusts of around 30-35 mph.
00:40Underneath all that cloud, temperatures will not be dropping too far at all and it will
00:43be a much milder night compared to what we have seen of late temperatures on up around
00:477-9 degrees Celsius.
00:49But down in the south east it's going to be a much chillier one here, once again dropping
00:54down towards those of 0 or 1 degrees Celsius, so quite a nippy start to Wednesday morning
01:00if you are out here.
01:02As we head throughout Wednesday it's going to be a case of us watching that band of rain
01:05gradually push its way eastwards but it is going to make rather slow progress, pushing
01:10across Scotland, northern England into Wales and southwestern central England.
01:15The far south east will get away with a largely dry day.
01:19The cloud will be building throughout the day, the sunshine will turn a bit hazier but
01:23the rain won't really get here until a little later on.
01:25An improving picture though for northern Ireland and western Scotland where we see the sunshine
01:30developing a little later on in the afternoon as well.
01:33It's here in the north west and the south east where temperatures will just climb that
01:37bit higher, thanks to that sunshine, highs of 12-13 degrees Celsius.
01:41But where you're stuck underneath that cloud and the rain throughout the day it's not going
01:45to feel particularly pleasant around 9-11 degrees.
01:50Into Wednesday evening then, continuing to watch this rain slowly make its way eastwards,
01:54finally reaching the far south east as well and it will gradually clear its way off into
01:58the North Sea as we head throughout the night with clearer intervals developing behind that.
02:03Still there's still a fair amount of cloud around and it is still quite breezy so it
02:07won't be a particularly chilly night for many of us, between 6-8 degrees Celsius for most
02:13so should stay frost free.
02:15Into the start of Thursday morning there is just the potential that it lingers a bit,
02:19the rain lingers a bit more across parts of north eastern Scotland and pushes its way
02:23back into the northern isles.
02:25But for everyone else, Thursday is looking like a day of sunny spells and scattered showers.
02:30Some of those showers could be quite heavy, particularly across eastern areas of England
02:34there is certainly the chance of some rumbles of thunder and hail in the mixture as well
02:38so you just take care here.
02:40But where you are in some of those sunnier spells it should feel relatively pleasant
02:45and temperatures around average for the time of year between 11-14 degrees Celsius.
02:52As we head into the Easter weekend, high pressure is building in once again and that's going
02:56to help settle things down for pretty much all of us throughout Friday and Saturday.
03:00You'll just notice there on Sunday a drizzle symbol for Belfast and there is the potential
03:06that we see a little frontal feature want to move its way into the far west as we head
03:09towards the second half of the weekend.
03:12But you can keep up to date with the full forecast for the Easter weekend as we head
03:17throughout the next few days and we'll be keeping you up to date on all of our social
03:20media channels here on YouTube, the app and on the website and we'll see you again here soon.
03:25Bye bye!
