00:00Hello, and welcome to your latest forecast from here at the Met Office. And the blustery
00:05weather continues as we head into the new working week. And that's all down to this
00:09area of low pressure up towards the northwest of the UK that will gradually clear its way
00:14eastwards through Monday. But as we head into Tuesday, we will then see a second low pressure
00:19system starting to arrive from the west. That's going to bring some more strong winds and
00:23also some heavy rain. So there'll be a little bit more about that later on in the forecast.
00:28So back to the here and now. And as for the rest of today, well, we've got lots of showers
00:31pushing their way in across the UK. These will band together at times to bring longer
00:35spells of rain. There will be a little bit of snow over the higher ground of Scotland,
00:40and there will be the odd rumble of thunder as well, particularly across northern and
00:43western parts. And with that, we have got some fairly chilly temperatures out there,
00:48temperatures back down to near normal for the time of year. Now, as we head through
00:52this evening and overnight, there's very little change in the weather, really continuing to
00:57see those showers being brought in on that brisk westerly breeze. But that wind will
01:01start to veer around to more of a northwesterly as we go through the overnight period. That
01:05will bring in slightly cooler air once again. So where those skies do clear, temperatures
01:10are likely to drop away overnight. We could see a touch of frost across parts of northern
01:14and eastern Scotland and possibly also northeast England as well. So it's a pretty chilly start
01:20to Monday morning for all of us. And again, we will see further showers pushing their
01:24way across the UK, always most frequent and heaviest up towards the northwest, where
01:28again, the odd rumble of thunder is possible and a little bit of snow is still likely over
01:32the tops of the hills in Scotland. But those showers will tend to ease as we go through
01:37the afternoon, particularly for southern parts where we'll see more in the way of sunshine
01:41through the afternoon. But yet again, another fairly cool day across the whole of the country,
01:45six and sevens in the north, eight and nines down towards the south. But those temperatures
01:50are set to change as we head into Tuesday. And that's all because this area of rain that's
01:55moving its way in across the country that's associated with that low we talked about earlier
01:59also brings in southerly winds. So temperatures up to 12 or 13. But there will be a lot of
02:05rain around on Tuesday. And this is one that we're already keeping an eye on for possible
02:09warnings later in the week. So it's quite a bit going on with our weather at the moment.
