00:00Hello, it's been a wet start for many today and there is more heavy rain to come in places,
00:07although not for everyone during the afternoon. The wet weather arrived from the west during
00:11the evening on Monday. It then spread across western parts of the UK, a lively night for
00:16Wales and the south-west, 40-50mm in some parts of Devon. Now that rain is pushing its
00:22way eastwards and the wettest weather for the afternoon will be across Scotland, especially
00:28eastern parts of Scotland, southern upslopes of the Grampians, likely to see 50-60mm of
00:34rainfall so yellow warning in force because that could cause some trouble. Now northern
00:38England, eastern England, the rain turning more showery by the afternoon and brighter
00:41skies returning to western parts of the UK, a lovely afternoon for Northern Ireland, however
00:46it won't be long before the next batch of showers pushes into south Wales and the south-west
00:51accompanied by a gusty wind, those showers rattling through central and southern parts
00:55of the UK. The rain in the north-east pushing into the northern isles and clearing the north-east
01:01mainland eventually overnight but the wind really picking up across Shetland and Orkney,
01:07gales developing here as the heavy rain sets in. And there will be further showers across
01:11southern and western coasts of the UK but some clear spells in between and where we
01:16get clear spells and slightly lighter winds, temperatures will fall away. Low single figures
01:20for Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland, northern England and north Wales, a chill in the air
01:25first thing Wednesday, a colder start compared with recent mornings and a gap in between
01:30weather systems for many. First weather front pushing into Shetland with tight isobars here,
01:37next weather front bringing some showers for southern counties of England, parts of Wales
01:42as well as the north-west but in between there will be some sunshine, there will be some
01:47decent drier interludes by the early part of the afternoon for many and just the odd
01:52shower in places at this stage. So things cheering up a little during the afternoon
01:59and temperatures up at 11 or 12 Celsius, so close to the average for the time of year.
02:05However, it stays very windy with further outbreaks of rain for Shetland and Orkney
02:09and in the south-west the next weather system moves in with some intense rain associated
02:15with this as well as coastal gales for parts of south-west Wales, south-west England and
02:20then running along the English Channel. The rain across Wales at central and south-eastern
02:26parts of England, heavy at times, could cause some issues for Kent, parts of Sussex where
02:31we've seen some very wet weather recently. Further north, clearing skies on Wednesday
02:36evening, northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland but it stays very, very windy indeed
02:41for parts of Shetland and Orkney, gusts of 60 mph plus with that strong wind. So it's
02:48going to stay very changeable over the next few days, further rain or showers and strong
02:53winds at times.
