00:00Hello, and welcome to the latest update from the Met Office. More of the same during the
00:04next few days, that means more chilly mornings, sunny afternoons and a keen breeze continues
00:11also in the southwest. Here, just on the periphery of high pressure, you can see the isobars
00:16a bit tighter together and that breeze will be bouncing off the moors of Devon and Cornwall
00:22and leading to some quite high wind gusts. A weather front close to the far north here
00:27will give some cloudier skies for north and northeast Scotland, one or two showers possible
00:32for Shetland, but for the vast majority it is a dry and clear night with a frost forming
00:39especially for central and eastern parts of England and east Wales into rural parts of
00:43Scotland. Temperatures in one or two spots well below freezing, but the frost not widespread.
00:50It's going to be breezy enough to keep temperatures at six Celsius in the southwest. Around coasts
00:55as well, it's generally going to be frost free, main urban centres. A chilly start
01:00for most however, a sunny start as well and that sunshine will soon lift temperatures
01:05and it's looking like a very similar day to Thursday. Widespread blue skies, just some
01:09additional cloud there for central and northern Scotland. For the vast majority it is dry
01:15and light winds for most, but we keep that keen breeze towards the southwest. Again,
01:20gusty conditions over the moors and across western parts of Devon as well as Cornwall.
01:25Feeling cool where we've got the onshore breeze, 10 to 13 Celsius perhaps around some particularly
01:31exposed coasts, but inland 14 to 17 Celsius fairly widely. 18 or 19 degrees possible in
01:38some favoured spots, Ayrshire, south and west Wales, around northwest England, west Midlands
01:44for example. Those would be the warm spots on Friday afternoon. Into the evening once
01:49the sun goes down those temperatures will fall away once again. Some low cloud will
01:54creep into central and eastern Scotland and northeast England and perhaps the odd patch
02:00elsewhere further south, but for most it's another clear night. It's another frosty night,
02:05I think the frost perhaps less widespread and so for many urban areas, 4 or 5 degrees,
02:12sheltered rural spots, low single figures perhaps just below freezing as we wake up
02:16on Saturday. Saturday is looking very similar, one exception, around some of these eastern
02:21areas of Scotland and northeast England there'll be more cloud about. That will retreat a little
02:26towards the coast, but I think some cloud will stick around through the day. But for
02:30most it's another sunny day to come on Saturday, bit more of a breeze there across southern
02:34parts of the UK, especially again towards the southwest, but actually a slightly warmer
02:41day perhaps in one or two spots around the south coast for example. 16 to 19 Celsius,
02:48but feeling notably cooler, especially where we've got cloudier skies around north sea
02:52coasts on Saturday. There's a full weekend forecast online as well and you can follow
02:57us on social media through all these channels. Bye bye.
