00:00Hello there. Anticyclonic gloom extends through the beginning of September before we see subtle
00:06changes in wind direction, allowing the cloud to break up. Favourite spots over the next
00:11few days will again be western Scotland and some parts of Northern Ireland for some sunshine.
00:16And that's how we see Tuesday evening, pleasant towards the northwest, but that feed of cloud
00:22continues to run down the North Sea, towards much of England and Wales, and eastern the
00:27north-east of Scotland. Now with that, the cloud will be thick enough to produce some
00:32showery bursts of rain through the night, drizzly bits and pieces to be honest, so a
00:36bit damp in places. But under the clearer skies across Scotland, some parts of Northern
00:41Ireland, we will see temperatures dip down to single figures, so a chilly start to the
00:46day come the 1st of September, this Wednesday. First thing on Wednesday morning then, it
00:51will be a bright start for some parts of Scotland, Argyll and Bute not doing too badly at all,
00:56the central belt, south of the central belt always more cloud, as well as towards the
01:00north-east. Now Northern Ireland is seeing more in the way of cloud, but that cloud will
01:03break up through the day. Cumbria not doing too badly at all, but Pennine districts, showery
01:08bursts of drizzly rain likely to come in, and that extends down eastern counties of
01:12England towards the Midlands, coming and going, many areas though will be dry. But the theme
01:17of the weather through Wednesday yet again for England and Wales, and some parts of Scotland
01:21towards the north-east, will be cloud. The periphery will see some brighter weather,
01:26perhaps the north-west of Wales and Northern Ireland brightening up, and the rest of the
01:30sunshine will be across Scotland, and even the central belt down towards more border
01:34regions will see some brighter skies here, hanging on to more clouds across the far north-east.
01:39And this cloud could break at times through the afternoon, the exception rather than the
01:43rule, you can see a blanket of stratocumulus, and again one or two drizzly showers can't
01:48be ruled out. A bit of a breeze towards the east as well as the south, but in the sunshine
01:53feeling pleasantly warm, western Scotland coming in around 21-23 degrees celsius, cooler
01:59though where we see that thicker cloud. Now here's your outlook on Thursday, again the
02:04chance of some brighter spells towards the west, further east more stubborn cloud, and
02:10the winds again coming in from the north-east or the east. The orientation of the high slowly
02:16changes as we head through Friday and into the weekend, so a higher chance of seeing
02:20some brighter skies through Friday and into Saturday, where we've seen that stubborn cloud
02:25over the last few days. But along the east coast, yes always more in the way of clouds.
02:30Elsewhere, some sunshine coming through for the beginning of September, all change though
02:34from the south-west through Sunday. Areas of cloud will move in with some showery bursts
02:41of rain, showery bursts of rain extending their way northwards, hanging on to dry weather
02:44across the far north, and it will turn a bit fresher with a keen breeze.
