00:00Hello there welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met
00:04office. We've had two types of weather through today it's been mostly fine
00:08across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Further south across England and Wales
00:11showery bursts of rain which have been intense. Low pressure does slide down
00:16towards the low countries through the next 24 hours as high pressure builds
00:19from the north even so still some showers towards the southeast but a fine
00:24day on Thursday after a chilly start and then all change slowly through Friday
00:30and into the weekend as low pressure gradually moves in from the west this
00:35time across Scotland and Northern Ireland the winds pick up some strength
00:39and eventually many areas seeing some outbreaks of rain. And it's wet for some
00:44through this evening particularly towards more eastern counties we lose
00:48the intensity of the rain showery bursts extend from Pennine districts down
00:52towards the Midlands one or two showers across West Wales down towards the West
00:57country. Clearer skies across Scotland and Northern Ireland still a quite a
01:01breeze coming in across the eastern side of Scotland and certainly a windy end to
01:05the night across eastern counties of England with showery rain continuing. But
01:10under clearer skies across central parts of Scotland you could see a touch of
01:14grass frost as we enter the day on Wednesday and it's a fine morning
01:18although it'll be chilly across Scotland as well as Northern Ireland. Even the
01:22cloud across border regions will tend to break up extending towards Cumbria as
01:27well as Northumberland and Lancashire Yorkshire through the day. Showers become
01:31confined to the Midlands southeastwards as we head through the morning into the
01:35afternoon on Wednesday and notice the cloud is breaking up further west across
01:39Wales as well. We hang on to those showers fleeting at times with a wind
01:44coming in from the northeast through the latter part of tomorrow. So even here
01:48yes you'll still see some showers but not the intense rain that we have seen
01:52through the last well month really off and on. Now temperatures across Western
01:57Scotland through tomorrow picking up to 16 degrees Celsius 15 for Belfast. Further
02:02west we could see a 17 for South Wales as well as the southeast of England
02:06feeling a bit cooler along this breeze with the strength of the wind. So that's
02:10the picture on Wednesday afternoon. Through Wednesday evening and overnight
02:15any showers become confined to coastal districts towards the southeast. Clearer
02:20skies across many areas and light winds inland allowing for some patchy fog and
02:26also some rural frost as we enter the day on Thursday. Now further south yes a
02:33one or two showers to start the day particularly across Channel Coast here
02:36but most places on Thursday will have a fine day a cold morning brighter skies
02:41some good spells of sunshine and it will be mostly dry. I say mostly dry because
02:45you can see these showers just filing in on a northeast wind across the coastline
02:49of Essex as well as Kent. Elsewhere some lovely sunshine to end Thursday as
02:55temperatures arrive around the mid-teens and the chance of some fog patches into
02:59Friday morning also a rural frost. But notice a bit more clouds towards the
03:03west Northern Ireland western parts of Scotland and that really heralds a
03:07change in our weather as we head into the weekend. Rain will move in
03:11particularly across Scotland and Northern Ireland gradually pushing
03:15towards the northwest of England as well as Wales. Dry skies further east as
03:19temperatures arrive yet again around 15 or 16 degrees Celsius. Stay up to date
03:24with our weather and I'll see you again soon.
