00:00Hello again. September sunshine, strong warm September sunshine on offer for
00:05pretty much all of us over the next couple of days. Today though it's only
00:09really on offer widely across the south. Further north we've got a lot more cloud
00:14around and although most places are dry that cloud is thick enough, particularly
00:19over Western Scotland, a bit of drizzle here and there. Here's the big picture
00:23you can see the north-south split with weather fronts draped across northern
00:26Britain and high pressure holding on to the south. There's been some mist and fog
00:30around that's been steadily clearing through the morning but still staying
00:34misty perhaps for a time around some coasts in the southwest. Otherwise a lot
00:38of sunshine for most of England and Wales. Cloudy across the far north of
00:41England, some brightness to the east of Scotland but the thickest cloud in
00:45Western Scotland providing rain and drizzle at times over the Highlands and
00:49the Western Isles. And as a result with the cloudier skies further north it's
00:52not as warm as it is further south where temperatures are getting into the
00:56mid or even high 20s. 27, 28 is possible. It could be warmer still on Tuesday.
01:03Through the evening not a great deal of change. We will see things turning misty,
01:07murky and some thick fog patches are possible. Be aware of those for first
01:12thing in the morning particularly through parts of Wales, northwest England and the
01:16Midlands. The drizzly conditions will persist through the night across the far
01:19northwest of Scotland as well and temperatures will hold up as well. It's
01:23going to be a pretty warm night. Some towns and cities staying at 16 degrees
01:27Celsius. So a warm start to what will be a very warm day on Tuesday. We do have
01:32that mist and fog around early on. It may take a few hours to clear. Could
01:36certainly be there through the morning rush hour. We will again have a lot of
01:39cloud in the northwest. Maybe a little bit of drizzle here and there over the
01:43Western Isles and the Highlands but for most it's dry and it's sunny. A sunnier
01:46day for Northern Ireland, Central, Southern Scotland and lots of sunshine
01:51for England and Wales. A bit of a breeze picking up along the south coast as we
01:55go and a very small chance of a shower across parts of Lincolnshire and East
02:00Anglia. But the vast majority strong September sunshine and look at these
02:03temperatures. Mid 20s, widely high 20s, even 30 Celsius is possible through
02:10Tuesday afternoon. It'll be another warm night to come on Tuesday night but there
02:15are signs of a change. The cloud thickening down to the southwest and the
02:20threat of some showers drifting into the far southwest of England during
02:24Tuesday evening and those showers will become more extensive. Still some warm
02:29sunshine to be had on Wednesday especially in the east but this low
02:32pressure system is heading in bringing bands of showers that will turn heavy
02:36and in places thundery during Thursday. So some big downpours are possible that
02:42low still bringing lots of showers across the country on Friday. So a big
02:45change from the start to the end of this week turning much cloudier with some
02:50heavy showers and some big downpours likely in places. Keep up to date with
02:55the very latest on the temperatures and those thundery showers by following the
02:59Met Office across social media.
