00:00Hello, and welcome to your latest update from the Met Office.
00:03The rest of Bank Holiday Monday will be cloudy with some rain for many of us, however, there
00:08will be some bright or sunny spells in the far north.
00:10So, some bright spells across Scotland and the far north of England this afternoon, but
00:14elsewhere, cloudy with patchy rain pushing north-eastwards, easing as it does so.
00:20Brighter spells and occasional showers in the south-west, and these bring the risk of
00:23some heavy rain to the southernmost coastal counties later.
00:28And temperatures around 12c in the south and south-west, but only 6-8c in the north.
00:35So the north and north-west of Scotland should remain dry on Monday night with some clear
00:38skies.
00:39Elsewhere, cloudy and damp with heavy rain in the south-east soon clearing.
00:43However, further heavy rain will spread into parts of northern Ireland, north England and
00:47north-west Wales late in the night.
00:50It will become increasingly windy across Wales and the south of England by morning, but staying
00:55mild here with temperatures in double figures for some, but cold in the far north with a
00:59frost for parts of Scotland.
01:02So on Tuesday morning, the north-west of Scotland should remain dry with some sunny spells.
01:08Elsewhere, cloudy and some patchy rain clearing slowly eastwards through the day with some
01:13afternoon sunshine for northern Ireland.
01:15Windy with some bright spells across the south Wales and southern parts of England, but also
01:20some scattered showers.
01:22And temperatures around 12c in the south, but feeling colder in those strong winds.
01:29So looking ahead towards the new year, the weather remains changeable with Atlantic weather
01:33systems bringing spells of wet and windy weather at times.
01:37It will become exceptionally mild though, especially across the south.
01:41That's all from me for now.
