00:00Hello again and welcome to your latest Met Office forecast. For the rest of Saturday it stays
00:04generally cloudy across the country with outbreaks of rain and drizzle at times spreading its way
00:09eastwards but generally becoming less cold particularly in the west with much milder air
00:14spreading in behind this warm front bringing a very mild day in the south on Sunday but it's all
00:19attention towards this area of low pressure that rapidly deepens as it engages with the jet stream
00:24through Sunday bringing a spell of very strong winds to northwestern and northern parts of
00:28Scotland on Sunday night then it stays quite unsettled with some rain in places on Monday.
00:33Back to Saturday afternoon though and despite some sunshine and brightness in the east of the
00:37country first thing in the afternoon generally cloudy skies with outbreaks of rain and drizzle
00:42edging their way eastwards through the rest of this afternoon becoming quite murky over the hills
00:48and around the coast with some hill fog and temperatures gradually starting to rise with
00:52highs of 11 or 12 in the west by the end of the afternoon though still feeling quite chilly from
00:57more eastern areas. It stays quite damp and murky overnight on Saturday with some outbreaks of rain
01:03and drizzle at times particularly across the higher ground of Wales. Further north across the country
01:08some clear skies will develop but there will be some showers across the northwest of Scotland.
01:12Under the best of the clear skies in eastern Scotland we could see temperatures fall low
01:16enough for a touch of frost but for many places a very mild night with temperatures actually rising
01:21across some eastern parts of England with lows of only 11 or 12 in places. Through Sunday it
01:27stays generally cloudy for many areas. We'll see outbreaks of rain spreading their way northwestwards
01:31across Northern Ireland into Scotland. Skies will brighten in places further south and where we see
01:36the brighter skies develop it will become very mild indeed for the time of year with highs of 13
01:41or 14 degrees celsius but it will turn windier later in the day towards the west and this area
01:47of low pressure will deepen through Sunday evening bringing a spell of very strong winds with severe
01:52gales perhaps towards the northwest of Scotland particularly the Isle of Lewis but perhaps also
01:57Orkney and Shetland where gusts of 80 to 90 miles an hour are possible. It stays unsettled into next
02:02week with some spells of wet and windy weather for many of us but it will gradually become drier
02:07with high pressure building later in the week. For all the latest information please do follow
