00:00Hello again. We've seen a lot of cloud in the sky recently, particularly across western
00:05parts of the country. Today, I think we'll see a bit more blue in the sky as this cold
00:09front clears and brighter conditions follow behind it for the vast majority of the country.
00:15However, the cold front is, well, slow to clear I think for southern counties of England,
00:19so especially for parts of Devon into Cornwall, it stays generally cloudy and damp through
00:25the afternoon. But clearer spells follow for the vast majority, a brisk north-westerly
00:30breeze, particularly blustery in the north where there will be showers for parts of northern
00:35England, northern Ireland, southern Scotland, but mostly for central and northern Scotland.
00:41Falling asleep, snow and hail for Shetland as well as for the higher parts of northern
00:46Scotland where it will be cold. But elsewhere, it's going to be relatively mild despite this
00:50north-westerly airflow. Having said that, the temperatures will drop away overnight
00:55because the winds will ease and we'll see plenty of clear spells certainly at first.
00:59And so, a fairly widespread frost, particularly across southern and eastern parts of the country
01:04and in sheltered spots, minus three or minus four Celsius. A few fog patches forming as
01:10well, particularly for southern and south-western parts of England, east Wales, perhaps one
01:15or two for east Anglia as well. Where we see fog, well, that could last until the middle
01:20part of the morning. Otherwise, plenty of sunny spells at first in the south and the
01:24east before the cloud thickens from the west. And as that cloud thickens and lowers, we'll
01:29see a few spots of rain or drizzle over western hills and coasts, but more persistent damp
01:35weather for western and northern Scotland. Some moderate or heavy rain for Shetland and
01:39the winds picking up in the north and the west as well. And temperatures closer to average
01:44in the south, but a slightly milder day to come further north and northwest. However,
01:51that rain turns more persistent into Friday evening, especially for the northwest Highlands
01:55and it's increasingly damp as the cloud lowers and thickens across western hills as well.
02:02It's drier in the east and the south, but with more cloud in the sky, it's going to
02:05be a milder night on Friday night and Saturday morning starts off with those cloudy conditions.
02:11And Saturday indeed is a windy day. In fact, it's going to be a blustery old weekend, particularly
02:17in the north with the risk of gales at times. There'll be much more on that in the Met Office
02:22weekend forecast, which you can find on our social media channels. Bye-bye.
