00:00Hi there, a powerful Aurora Borealis likely to be seen across some parts of the UK on
00:06Monday nights. But of course, it will hinge on whether you've got cloudy skies and a lot
00:12of places unfortunately will have cloudy skies. High pressure sitting to the northwest of
00:17Scotland and actually if we run the clock forward, you can see it just basically sits
00:21in more or less the same place over the next few days. It just drifts away slightly towards
00:26the northwest by the end of the week. But otherwise, we keep very similar conditions
00:31through the rest of the week. That means we're going to continue to pull in a lot of cloud
00:34from the North Sea and so not a great night for seeing the northern lights for eastern
00:39and southern Scotland. Northern Ireland also seeing a few cloudy skies but some cloud breaks
00:44coming along as well. We might be lucky there. North Norfolk coast, perhaps after midnight,
00:49some clear skies here. Always a good bet for seeing the northern lights on that north coast
00:54of Norfolk. Further south, we will have the clear skies but I think possibly too far south
00:59without any specialist equipment to see it with the naked eye. A touch of frost where
01:03we've got the clearest bells in the south and for western Scotland as well as low as
01:07minus 7 Celsius in sheltered parts of the Highlands. Otherwise, frost free where we've
01:12got the cloudier conditions and a few showers spilling into Wales, perhaps the southwest
01:16first thing Tuesday. But the most frequent showers will arrive into the North Sea coast
01:21of Scotland and England, into northern England, the Midlands and then later in the day, parts
01:26of east Wales, perhaps some parts of east Anglia into central southern England at times
01:30as well. So quite a number of showers about actually on Tuesday. It's possibly going to
01:35be the showeriest day of the week. Western Scotland though, doing well for sunshine after
01:40that frosty start and temperatures recovering to 7 to 9 Celsius. Further showers come along,
01:47lines of showers in fact, especially for the Pennines into central and southern parts
01:51by the end of Tuesday. I think once again, western Scotland and northern Ireland seeing
01:55some clear spells and later in the night actually, southern counties of England seeing a broken
02:01look to the cloud. But where we get the clearest bells, temperatures dropping below freezing,
02:06where we keep the cloud of course, remaining at 3 to 5 Celsius. And there will be further
02:11showers on Wednesday. You can see them arriving into western Scotland, into eastern England
02:16as well, central parts. A better chance of some sunshine appearing into Shetland and
02:21then later Orkney on Wednesday. We keep the sunny skies for western Scotland as well as
02:25some southern counties of England. Sunny spells for parts of northern Ireland as well as northwest
02:31England and north Wales. But again, temperatures very similar, 7 to 9 Celsius by and large
02:37and feeling a bit colder where we've got the wind coming from the North Sea. Thursday and
02:41Friday look very similar. We're going to see, I think, fewer showers. A better chance of
02:46some cloud breaks. But otherwise, that high pressure keeping things very static through
02:50the week before a big change takes place during the weekend. And you can find more about that
02:56on the Met Office YouTube channel. Bye bye.
