00:00Hi there. We're going to see very static weather patterns during the next few days with high
00:04pressure in charge. High pressure doesn't always mean completely sunny and dry, however.
00:09That high pressure sitting over Scotland, for example, over the next few days will maintain
00:13an easterly airflow, that easterly bringing a lot of cloud from the North Sea and even
00:17some showers with it. Those showers that we've seen earlier in the day, you can see on the
00:22satellites and radar imagery, feeding in across eastern England into the Midlands, parts of
00:27east and south Wales, one or two reaching central southern England as well as the south-east.
00:33But Scotland largely dry, away from the south-east, Northern Ireland dry, west Wales, southern
00:37counties of England, sunny spells. And the cloud, even where we've got the showers feeding
00:42in, fairly well broken, so some bright spells appearing in between the showers for eastern
00:47England, for example, into the afternoon. You can see a large amount of cloud across
00:50the UK, especially through central areas, that cloud filtering into the south as well.
00:55But there will continue to be some breaks, some sunshine coming through for western parts
00:58of England, west Wales and the brightest skies reserved for western Scotland, as is often
01:04the case in an easterly. Temperatures 7 to 9 Celsius, but feeling cold where we've got
01:09a breeze coming through, feeling pleasant with light winds and sunshine in western Scotland.
01:15And watch out if you're in western Scotland for the aurora tonight, a good chance, just
01:19like last night, of seeing a strong aurora anywhere in the north of the UK where we've
01:24got some clear spells. Unfortunately, there will be a lot of cloud about, but anywhere
01:27where we've got clear spells, a decent chance of seeing that aurora. And even across some
01:31central parts, if you've got a decent camera, you might be able to catch a glimpse. In the
01:37south, some broken cloud through the night, but here, chances of seeing the aurora, unless
01:42you've got a very, very fancy camera and know what you're doing, very slim. Some clear spells
01:47though, and a touch of frost possible, minus 1, minus 2 Celsius. Likewise for western Scotland,
01:53a frost here, but where we've got the cloud and the showers feeding in 3 to 5 degrees.
01:59And that cloud will continue to feed in from the east and northeast into Tuesday. Showers,
02:04you can see across northern England, especially for the Pennines, North York Moors for example.
02:08Those showers tending to feed southwards during Tuesday afternoon, reaching parts of the Midlands,
02:13East Anglia, eastern and south Wales, central and southern England. So, some areas prone
02:19to shower after shower. It's going to feel like a very different day compared with, for
02:23example, more western areas, especially western Scotland, where we keep those brighter or
02:27even sunnier skies. Temperatures mostly similar to Monday, but again, feeling cold where we've
02:33got that brisk easterly on the east coast and quite a breeze along the English Channel
02:38as well. Some more prolonged showery rain for a time, I think later Tuesday. Those showers
02:44tending to push west through the day, but again, it's western Scotland favoured for
02:49the best of any sunny spells. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, very similar weather before
02:54things change somewhat into the weekend.
