00:00Hello again. If you check out our 10-day trend on the Met Office YouTube channel, you'll
00:05find that there are strong signals of a significant change in the weather next week. But for the
00:11next few days at least, the weather stays changeable. It stays showery. In fact, during
00:16the evening, we're likely to see some longer spells of rain into the south and southeast,
00:20perhaps running up through eastern parts of England as well as parts of northern England
00:25and eastern Scotland by the end of the night. Showers generally elsewhere, although there
00:29will be some clear spells, particularly northern and western Scotland, western Northern Ireland,
00:33towards the southwest as well, where we get clear spells, temperatures in the single figures
00:37in sheltered spots first thing. But Thursday, we can expect more of the same. Low pressure
00:42to the northwest, driving occluded fronts around it, and in between those occluded fronts,
00:49sunshine and showers effectively. But the occluded fronts will provide a focus for longer
00:52spells of rain. For example, eastern Scotland first thing Thursday, and eastern parts of
00:56northern Ireland, some wetter weather could cause a few issues. But for most, it's scattered
01:03showers. And with light winds, those showers will be slow moving. So we can expect in some
01:09places, shower after shower. In other places, sunny spell after sunny spell. So it's going
01:14to be very mixed, hit and miss downpours, hail and thunder possible towards central
01:18and southern parts of the country, and slightly below average temperatures, even where we
01:23get some sunshine coming through, 18 to 22 Celsius. Windward coasts, most likely to see
01:29drier and sunnier weather. So where we've got a bit of an onshore breeze, those showers
01:33mostly avoiding places. Although into the evening, there'll still be some showers around.
01:39This area of rain threatens the far northeast by the start of Friday. But otherwise, Friday
01:46starts off with, again, clear spells, some sunshine in places, and a few showers, and
01:51a cool start once again. A bit of a breeze towards the far south, but otherwise light
01:55winds on Friday. Feeling pleasant enough, where we get some sunshine first thing. But
02:00through the day, you can see the showers quickly bubble up. The air very unstable at the moment.
02:06And by the afternoon, those showers focused across eastern Scotland, eastern parts of
02:10England, particularly in the north. Whilst towards the southwest, a better chance of
02:15drier and brighter weather arriving. Nevertheless, temperatures still a little below average
02:21for the time of year. Later Friday, the showers ease away, but Saturday brings with it further
02:28showers, in some places longer spells of rain. But eventually, through Sunday, Monday, Tuesday,
02:34the weather will turn more settled. And later next week, signs that it will warm up too.
