00:00Hello. Most of us are going to have some fine weather, certainly for the start of the long weekend.
00:05There is an increasing chance of showers again come the end of the weekend.
00:09Certainly we've seen a lot of showers already this week and through this afternoon,
00:13still plenty of them over parts of northern England and eastern England.
00:17But hit and miss, and certainly for Scotland, Northern Ireland, not as many showers as recent days.
00:22Most of Wales and southwest England dry and bright with a bit of sunshine,
00:25and it's just starting to get a little warmer as well.
00:28Obviously, temperatures drop off under those showers.
00:30But in the south, in the sunny spells, we could squeak up to 20 Celsius.
00:34Through this evening, any of those showers over northern England will fade away.
00:38So from eight, nine o'clock, it becomes dry and clear.
00:41We've got light winds. That's a recipe for mist and fog patches to form,
00:45particularly over eastern England. It shouldn't last too long in the morning.
00:48But it's also a recipe for temperatures to tumble.
00:51It's going to be a chilly start to the first bank holiday.
00:55But by and large, it's going to be a sunny start as well.
00:58And for many, it'll stay dry with sunny spells throughout Thursday.
01:02The main difference will be for Northern Ireland,
01:05where we will see increasing cloud and some showery rain pushing in here.
01:08Also, one or two scattered showers over northern England, southern parts of Scotland,
01:13and later in the day, central and northern Scotland.
01:16But they'll be hit and miss, not as many as recent days.
01:18And certainly for most places, it's a dry and a bright day and a warmer day as well.
01:23Temperatures in the south, sunshine very pleasant indeed into the low 20s.
01:27Cooler further north, but still many places warmer than it has been for much of this week.
01:32Obviously, feeling cooler with that rain spreading into Northern Ireland.
01:35Just a cautionary note as well. Of course, we haven't seen a lot of sunshine recently.
01:38The sun is strong at this time of year.
01:41UV levels are likely to be high.
01:43Grass pollen levels will also be on the increase during Thursday.
01:47Through the evening, if you've got plans again, certainly most of England and Wales set fair, dry and fine.
01:52We will see a bit more of that rain pushing into Northern Ireland, getting into the Belfast area
01:56and one or two showers still across parts of Scotland.
01:59But for many, that will lead into a fine day on Friday.
02:02High pressure is trying to build in and it really sets up across the north,
02:06being a lot of fine weather here through Friday and into the weekend.
02:09But further south, we do have this weather front just milling around
02:13and some warmer air coming up from the south,
02:15potentially bringing some showers on Saturday and Sunday across parts of the south.
02:21So it's not clear cut, it's not dry and sunny everywhere,
02:24but generally a lot drier than the early part of this week.
02:27Many places seeing sunny spells, but it will turn cloudier in the south
02:30with an increasing risk of showers developing here as well.
