00:00Last weekend at Santa Anita, Cavalieri ran her record to a perfect 3 for 3 by winning the grade 3 La Canyada stakes on this week's First Things First from Santa Anita.
00:11Michelle Yu spoke to the trainer of Cavalieri, Mr. Bob Baffert.
00:21Frank, I'm joined right now by trainer Bob Baffert, whose Cavalieri goes a perfect 3 for 3 here, Bob.
00:26And I feel like we all anticipated her being able to stretch out that extra 60th of a mile with no doubt.
00:31But what were your thoughts going into the race?
00:34I mean, coming into it, the way she's been training and she's maturing, she's a big, beautiful stout mare.
00:40And we knew, you know, we're going to hopefully, you know, keep them healthy.
00:43She should have a lot of fun with her this year.
00:46And it was a big step up for her, you know, run against some really nice fillies and she handled it well, took a lot of pressure and kept going.
00:55I think she's going to improve off of this, you know, big, strong mare that she is.
00:59So we're pretty, very happy about it.
01:02We were looking for an heir apparent for Adair Manor for the last couple of years for you.
01:06Maybe this filly can fill in her hoof steps.
01:09Yeah, I mean, Adair Manor, she was something else.
01:12But it's nice to have these big mares and the clientele, Peter Flohr and the Speedway Racing.
01:20They've been great, you know, sending me these good horses.
01:23So I'm very happy about it.
01:25And Zoe, of course.
01:27And Zoe, she helps pick them out.
01:29But we got it.
01:30We got a great team, you know.
01:32All right.
01:33Congratulations here with this win.
