00:00This past weekend I had the absolute pleasure of heading up to Golden Gate Fields for the last and final running of the San Francisco Mile at where the Bay comes to play.
00:12I caught up with the winning connections and I could not be any happier for trainer Manny Badir and owner Ron Charles.
00:20It's Llamas, Llamas close to home and Llamas takes the San Francisco Mile.
00:31Here with the winning connections Irving Orozco to my right and Manny Badir to my left and Manny you may be one of the most popular winners that I think we've ever seen here.
00:41When this horse crossed the wire everybody just yelled Manny!
00:45How are you feeling right now?
00:47I'm telling you I don't even know what the feeling is like right now, this is something else.
00:52This horse has been taking us for a ride and this was the biggest ever race I've ever won right now and it's this horse.
00:59Irving, he's done a good job and I congratulate the owners Ron Charles and Sam Gordon and my connections of the groom and exercise rider, just everybody all together, it's been a team effort.
01:11What has led to him becoming so good under your tutelage?
01:15Old age.
01:19I'm all for that, like a fine wine.
01:21Working good for me, I like it too.
01:23Alright Manny, well you've got one to saddle here, congratulations, we are absolutely delighted.

01:32Here with the winning jockey Irving Orozco, he gave you quite good props there, how do you feel after winning your first San Francisco Mile?
01:39I'm sort of speechless right now, same as for Manny, it's the biggest race of my career.
01:46Shaking.
01:48Yeah, I just wanted to win it so bad.
01:52Growing up in California, this was a dream for me to win this race and to win it for the last time that it's going to be run, it just feels really good.
02:04I'm just so happy it worked out for us, we've been working with this horse for a few months now and it paid off today.
02:12And finally, how is it working for Manny, because he may be one of the most likable guys up here at Golden Gate Fields.
02:18It's amazing, we've won many races together, so hopefully it keeps it going.
02:28I love riding for him and I'm sure we'll take some more pictures together.

02:42And it's hard to just imagine that Irving Orozco, this time last year, was in hospital with broken ribs and a punctured lung.
02:49So a fantastic ride for him aboard Llamas, taking down the San Francisco Mile.
02:55I do want to remind you that not only do we have the Kentucky Derby coming up in Kentucky, but you can watch that live at Santa Anita as racing will resume on Friday with a one o'clock post time.
