00:00Sequel New York has welcomed two exciting new stallions this year.
00:06Loud Bands Keep Me In Mind, a Grade 2 winning 2-year-old, has the looks to keep alive the
00:11legacy of his late sire, while Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Champion Fire At Will brings
00:17an exciting turf pedigree to the state.
00:21For the 2023 breeding season, Sequel New York has two exciting new stallions.
00:26Keep Me In Mind being one of them, as well as Fire At Will, who we got even more recently.
00:31Keep Me In Mind, a Grade 2 winner at 2 years old.
00:35Keep Me In Mind had a great 2-year-old campaign.
00:39He was really the first of the Loud Bands to make national notoriety, along with, of
00:48course, Simply Ravishing.
00:50His second start was in Grade 1 company, where he unfortunately met Essential Quality, who
00:56he would run second to.
00:59His next race would be a month later in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, and for him to race
01:03the way he did, running third to Essential Quality and Hot Rod Charlie, but beating horses
01:08like Rumbauer, who would later win the Preakness, and horses like Jackie's Warrior, who are
01:13Eclipse champions, it was really a significant accomplishment for the whole team, both the
01:18ownership as well as the stallion side.
01:21Keep Me In Mind was still in phenomenal shape, and the decision was made to enter him into
01:26the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes at Churchill, which was a Grade 2 that he would ultimately
01:31win to break his maiden.
01:33One of the major similarities between Keep Me In Mind and Loud Band were the fact that
01:38they both broke their maidens in Grade 2 company.
01:42Keep Me In Mind just happened to do it a little bit sooner than Loud Band did.
01:46He's a more elegant, refined version of Loud Band that shares a lot of his best traits.
01:51He's got the big hip, but he's also a leggy, stretchy horse that you would expect from
01:57the Uncle Mo line.
01:59Anytime you bring a stallion into your farm, you want to look at, one, the race record,
02:04two, the physical, as well as the pedigree.
02:10Fire at Will was trained by Mike Maker, who is an absolute legend with turf horses.
02:15In speaking to Mike Maker, he shared with us that Fire at Will was actually the fastest
02:18two-year-old he's ever trained on the turf, which just speaks a lot to the precociousness
02:25and the speed that Fire at Will had.
02:28Fire at Will broke his maiden on the dirt at Saratoga in a stake race before transitioning
02:33over to the grass, where he would ultimately become the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Champion.
02:39As a stallion farm, it's always exciting to bring in successful two-year-old race horses,
02:43because they tend to produce early success in their offspring, which is always wonderful
02:49both for the owners, the breeders, as well as the sellers like us here in Florida.
02:54So Fire at Will is standing at Sequel New York in partnership with Three Diamonds Farm,
02:58which is owned and managed by Kirk and Deborah Wyckoff.
03:02They're tremendous supporters of the New York bred program, and it just seemed like the
03:06perfect fit for this Breeders' Cup Champion to come to Sequel New York, to really put
03:10it all together and see what we can create together.
03:14One of the things that we find to be extremely important is the physical.
03:19Fire at Will does not look like a typical Danzig line type of horse.
03:23Instead, he's a very elegant, leggy, stretchy, streamlined horse that had great movement
03:30on the track and really displayed efficiency when he ran.
03:34Three Diamonds Farm has made lots of friends in the horse racing industry, and they're
03:38really all coming together to support Fire at Will to make him a tremendous stallion
03:43that we believe he can be.
03:46He's getting support from consignors as well as commercial breeders.
03:50One of the most exciting aspects of Keep Me In Mind at Sequel New York is the ownership
03:56and their participation in making this stallion great.
04:00It's the same owners that brought us Lauban.
04:02With the success of Lauban, the ownership group had a lot of confidence and decided
04:06to invest even more heavily into the success of Keep Me In Mind.
