00:00Good evening, there has been some sunshine around today, but it has felt a
00:03little bit chilly, particularly in the wind. That chilly feel is going to
00:07continue through this evening and into tomorrow morning as well. We have got
00:10fairly cold air with us, it's just a small area of cold air surrounded by
00:14that milder air either side. This milder air will return later on in the week.
00:19However, with high pressure dominating, we've got this ridge of higher pressure
00:23bringing in a north easterly wind. That will drag in a bit of cloud for eastern
00:27areas of northern England. Some drizzly rain possible here, but for many of us
00:30it's going to be a dry and clear evening and much of the night should be dry as
00:35well, away from the far northwest. Where it does stay dry and clear, we could
00:40see some mist and fog developing, particularly across parts of central and
00:43southeastern England. I think that's where we're most likely to see some fog
00:47by tomorrow morning. But also you can see the blue showing that we've got a risk
00:50of a frost tonight. So inland areas of Wales, many areas of the Midlands,
00:55northern England as well as in parts of the southwest are at risk of a frost by
00:59tomorrow morning. Across the far northwest, across Northern Ireland, much
01:03of northern Scotland, the frost risk is lower. That's because we've got more
01:07cloud moving in as well as some wet weather by tomorrow morning. So a
01:11blustery band of rain will push through northern areas of Scotland through the
01:15early hours of Tuesday. That rain will then sink further south into central and
01:20southern areas of Scotland and into northern England and Wales later on
01:23towards lunchtime and into the afternoon. Ahead of it, it should stay
01:27largely dry across central areas and the southeast as well as parts of the
01:32southwest. You should stay largely dry through much of the day but it will be a
01:35cloudier day than today and it will be feeling fairly cold, particularly if you
01:40do get off to a murkier start with any mist and fog around. In the far northwest
01:44though, across parts of Northern Ireland as well as much of Scotland, it does
01:48brighten up through the afternoon. However, we do see some blustery showers
01:52starting to develop. It's still fairly cold in this area but once that rain
01:56clears so we will see some snow still falling over the high ground of Scotland.
02:00This band of rain will sink into the southeast through Tuesday evening. It
02:05tends to just become a band of cloud though as it does so the risk of rain is
02:09fairly low. However, that will allow some mist and fog to develop fairly widely
02:14across the south coast but also some areas close to the Pennines seeing some
02:17low cloud and murk to start on Wednesday morning. Because there's a bit more
02:22cloud around it's not gonna be quite as cold but it will still be a fairly
02:25chilly start to the day on Wednesday. Across the east through
02:30Wednesday morning it should stay largely bright away from any mist and fog but
02:33cloud will thicken from the west through the course of Wednesday. That's as
02:37this next band of rain arrives from the west bringing some fairly persistent
02:41rain particularly to the high ground of Wales, the southwest, parts of the Lake
02:44District and western areas of Scotland seeing some fairly persistent rain
02:48through the day. A southerly wind though will bring in some mild air so
02:52temperatures will rise through Wednesday. It will stay milder on Thursday as well
02:57before things turn a bit colder to end the week but if you do want a full week
03:02ahead forecast you can find one with Alex Birkhill on YouTube. See you later.
