00:00Hi there, a little bit of a rollercoaster ahead with our temperatures over the next
00:05few days. It has been a cold start to the day in some places. It is now turning milder
00:10as cloud builds from the west, a warm front moves in and outbreaks of rain arrive. Mostly
00:15the rain through the rest of the day will affect central and western areas. It will
00:19be persistent in places, particularly over western hills where there will be some heavy
00:23bursts. North Wales most likely affected by the heavy rain during the afternoon. That
00:27moves into north-west England later on. It stays largely dry towards the east, especially
00:32east Anglia and the south-east, as well as eastern Scotland. Some brightness clinging
00:36on here, but actually for many it is a grey and damp day, but it is mild. Temperatures
00:42reaching 9-12 Celsius. The breeze picking up through the day as well, that will become
00:46more of a feature overnight. But as the evening begins, the rain turns heavier for a time
00:52across north-western areas before eventually it pushes through south-eastern parts, followed
00:57by a cold front that pushes into Wales, central and southern England during the night time
01:04with clearer skies arriving into Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England, albeit
01:08with blustery showers. An increase in the wind and colder air arriving, so those showers
01:14will be falling as snow over the Scottish mountains. So, a colder feel as we begin Thursday
01:20in the north-west with gales for the north and north-west of Scotland, but we keep the
01:25mild conditions across much of England and Wales with damp weather to begin things across
01:31the Midlands into east Anglia, the south of England, clearing south Wales during the morning.
01:37But it does linger there across the south-east corner throughout much of the day, so a damp
01:41day ahead. And it's going to be brighter for the north and west of the UK with blustery
01:47showers, continued strong winds, 60 mph wind gusts for the north of Scotland, and those
01:53wintry showers over hills becoming more and more frequent and heavier as the day goes on.
01:58So, feeling cold once again across the north-west of the UK, mild where it's damp in the south-east.
02:06That colder air I mentioned though, that does make further progress south-eastwards into
02:12Thursday evening as this front finally clears, the damp weather easing away. Clearer spells,
02:18but also showers pushing into parts of western England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
02:24And this area of more prolonged rain and some heavy downpours starts to arrive into Ireland
02:30by the end of Thursday. This is a weather front that will push into south-western parts
02:35by the end of Thursday, but it will also bring colder conditions with winds coming from the
02:40north and north-west, and that colder air will lead to some wintry weather across central
02:44parts for Friday. So Friday, that front pushes through south-western areas, bringing some
02:49heavy rain for a time at first, but then as it moves into Wales, central and eventually
02:55northern England, it will bring some snow. Mostly the snow will be above 200 metres,
03:00any significant settling snow most likely above 200 metres, but could see some sleet
03:05and snow down to lower levels at times for parts of north Wales, north Midlands and northern
03:10England. So, yeah, some wintry stuff for central parts, mostly rain showers for the
03:15far south, dry for Scotland and Northern Ireland until the end of the day as this system moves
03:20north. And there will be some sunshine in between the rain and the snow with temperatures
03:26lower across the UK, 6-9C, even lower than that where we do see that snow falling. So
03:32plenty going on over the next few days. Of course, you can stay up to date with all our
