00:00Hello, very good day to you. The heat wave is going to continue for a few days yet with
00:04some exceptionally hot weather around temperatures getting above 30 for some of us for several
00:09days now. The cause of it is our hot air that we have across us. It's dragged up from the
00:15south because we have high pressure to the east and low pressure to the west. And it's
00:19this high pressure in the east that's dominating the weather, leading to it being generally
00:23settled and plenty of clear sunny skies, hence why temperatures are rising so high. Take
00:28a look at the details through Thursday afternoon and you can see there are a few showers that
00:32have developed across parts of the southwest and southwest Wales as well. A little bit
00:36of uncertainty as to how much of the rain is actually going to reach the ground. There
00:40is a slice of drier air between the showers and the surface as a result. Some of those
00:45will evaporate before they reach us, but the potential for some downpours perhaps if these
00:49develop and if they actually make it to the surface. Otherwise, lots of dry sunny weather
00:55to be had, a bit more cloud than we've seen through some recent days, could be quite high
00:58level cloud though, so just turning the sunshine a bit milky, a bit hazy at times too. Look
01:03at those temperatures still well above average for the time of year, around 10 degrees above
01:06average for many of us, likely to get to highs around 31, 32 Celsius towards the southeastern.
01:12The heat is widespread even across far northern parts of Scotland. We could get into the mid
01:16to high 20s here. Through the end of the day, we're going to continue to see some showers
01:21across western parts in particular, perhaps some downpours then developing overnight across
01:25parts of Scotland. A good chance that some of these could perhaps be heavy and maybe
01:29thundery too. Clear skies for many as we go through the night though, like we've seen
01:33through some recent nights, some murkiness, some sea fog, low cloud drifting in from the
01:37North Sea affecting some eastern parts. Also, a few pockets of mist and fog developing elsewhere,
01:42but look at those temperatures still on the warm side. Another difficult night for sleeping,
01:47uncomfortable for some of us. It's going to be quite humid, quite muggy and temperatures
01:52in some towns and cities staying above 20 Celsius like we've seen through some recent
01:56nights. So a warm muggy start for many of us on Friday morning and a bit cloudy for
02:01some eastern parts. That cloud, that murk will gradually or quite quickly actually burn back
02:05towards the coast. And then yes, plenty of sunshine again for many parts. Still some
02:10high level cloud, particularly towards the south southwest. And then later on in the
02:14day, we will start to see the risk of some heavy thundery showers pushing in as we go
02:19into the evening. Temperatures may be a nudge down only by a degree or so compared to Thursday
02:25for some of us, but still a good chance that we'll get above 30 Celsius somewhere for the
02:29fifth day running. Through Friday evening, there's that risk of some thunderstorms perhaps
02:34affecting parts of Devon and Cornwall. A little bit of uncertainty about this though. Otherwise,
02:40generally staying dry with some clear skies. But once more, we are going to see some murkiness
02:44pushing in from the North Sea. Looking ahead to the weekend then and the hot weather is
02:49going to continue. Temperatures likely to reach highs of around 32, possibly 33 Celsius
02:54on Saturday and perhaps Sunday too. But with the hot weather, we do have the risk of some
02:58thunder. So things likely to take a bit of a breakdown as we go through the weekend and
03:03into next week when things should start to turn a bit more comfortable and cooler too.
