00:00Hi there. For many of us it's another fine spring day but there will be some
00:05cloud and even some rain to talk about. The rain predominantly affecting the
00:10north and northwest of Scotland that moves in during the rest of the
00:13afternoon. Elsewhere across the UK areas of cloud bubble up and tend to spread
00:18out so not particularly sunny in a number of spots and that cloud will give
00:23the odd shower especially for northern, eastern and central parts of England but
00:26they will be fairly isolated for most. It's a dry afternoon and it's relatively
00:32warm 19-20 Celsius in the south and it's in the south and the west where the
00:36highest temperatures will be a little bit cooler for the North Sea coast a
00:40bit of a breeze coming in from the east there and certainly feeling cooler as
00:44the rain sets in for the north and northwest of Scotland. That rain not
00:47particularly heavy it will be damp through the afternoon and into the
00:51evening but tending to turn more drizzly overnight. Any moderate bursts confined
00:55to the northwest highlands. Elsewhere across the UK the cloud associated with
01:00that rainfall tends to spill south medium and high levels of cloud and so
01:04it's going to be well not entirely clear overnights but in the south and
01:09southeast that's where the clearest skies will be and temperatures dipping
01:12into the single figures here but a milder night to come further north
01:16temperatures in many places holding up in the double figures. So outbreaks of
01:22light rain and drizzle for Scotland first thing Thursday that tends to
01:26peter out for a time and then some more persistent wet weather moves into the
01:30far northwest by the lunchtime period and that starts to affect Northern
01:35Ireland as well as go through the afternoon. Otherwise most places will be
01:39again dry and bright the best of any sunny spells will be in the south but
01:42with a slight change in wind direction in the east it will be a warmer
01:46afternoon with temperatures here in the high teens perhaps even 20 Celsius and
01:5021 Celsius possible somewhere in the south given some sunshine. Slightly
01:56warmer as well for Scotland and Northern Ireland even if it is increasingly
01:59cloudy and damp as the afternoon wears on and the weather front bringing this
02:04this cold front sinks southwards during Thursday evening it breaks up into
02:09showers and as that progresses into England and Wales through Thursday night
02:14and into Friday well it's going to bring scattering of showers I think across
02:19central and southern parts of the UK on Friday itself interspersed by sunny
02:24spells. Scotland and Northern Ireland seeing brighter skies on Friday but it
02:28will feel a bit cooler and then really into the weekend we've got this broad
02:32swathe of high pressure across the UK so for many places it's another fine spell
02:37of weather with sunny spells but the odd shower will still be around.
