00:00Hello. If you've started the day with poor visibility, don't expect a vast improvement
00:05into the afternoon. Things are going to remain fairly static, I think, for most of us today.
00:11And that means that where we've got the extensive low cloud, mist and dense fog through central
00:16and southern parts, it's just going to stick around basically. There's not much at this
00:19time of year to lift it. There is some sunshine around though, west Wales, parts of the south
00:24and where we get the sunshine, 9, 10, 11 Celsius possible. Where we've got the mist
00:29and fog, it's going to be more like 2 to 5 degrees through the afternoon. A different
00:34story for the far north of England and Scotland. Here it's cloudier skies and some outbreaks
00:39of rain, but the rain tending to become light and patchy by the afternoon. And the rain
00:44having cleared Northern Ireland, well we'll see a mild day here with a southerly breeze
00:48and a fair amount of cloud but some brighter conditions at times. So a mixture as we go
00:54into Thursday night, where we've got the poor visibility through the day, quite quickly
00:58large areas of fog will form once again through north-east England into the midlands, east
01:02Wales, southern parts of England. I think for east Anglia and the south-east, we'll
01:07avoid the fog and perhaps a frost as well because here we've got a bit more of a breeze
01:11and some showers arriving into Kent. That will occur through Thursday and into Friday.
01:16One or two showers perhaps popping up in the far south-west of England, but across Cornwall,
01:20west Wales, clear spells overnight and a touch of frost in places, likewise for Northern
01:24Ireland. Scotland and Northern England continuing to see cloud and some outbreaks of light rain,
01:30although that tending to fizzle out as the weather fronts move away. This weather front
01:34approaching, but by the start of Friday, well the high pressure is well and truly in control
01:40exerting more of its influence as the isobars tighten together and we'll see a strengthening
01:45easterly breeze. Now because of that easterly breeze, we're going to see fewer problems
01:50with fog over the next few mornings. Friday is the last one where we'll see dense and
01:55widespread fog across central and southern areas. That will be lifted through the morning
02:00by that increased breeze and by drier air coming in from the east. Now for Scotland,
02:05we'll continue to see cloud and some outbreaks of light rain, but that tends to fizzle by
02:09the end of the afternoon. A bright day for Northern Ireland, for parts of central and
02:12western UK as well, some sunshine coming through. And it's mildest in the west, 10
02:18Celsius, but it's going to feel cold in the east with that easterly breeze arriving and
02:23with some showers coming along for parts of East Anglia, South East England as well as
02:27the Midlands by the afternoon. At this stage, those showers are rain, might be coming from
02:32the east, but at this stage the wind isn't particularly cold. Nevertheless, those showers
02:39will continue to arrive on Friday evening across central and eastern parts of England
02:45and it's a showery picture as you go into the weekend. Those showers will fall as snow
02:49over the tops of the Pennines, the Scottish mountains and some of the Welsh mountains
02:53as well, but at lower levels we can expect rain and there will be some bright spells
02:57and as I mentioned, less fog.
