27th March - National weather forecast by Becky Mitchell.
Transcript
00:00Hello there. After a rather sunny week, some of us will hang on to that sunshine through this afternoon.
00:06However, low cloud did spill in from the North Sea overnight to affect parts of eastern and central England.
00:12And here, where the low cloud persists, it will feel quite chilly today.
00:15But for many, the cloud is breaking and we will see plenty of sunshine across much of the country,
00:20feeling quite warm with highs of 17 or 18.
00:23Under those cloudier conditions, temperatures might be stuck in single figures.
00:27As we head through tonight, the low cloud spreads its way slightly further northwards,
00:31so much of northern England and eastern England seeing quite cloudy and murky conditions with some mist and fog.
00:38But elsewhere, we've got clear skies and it will turn quite chilly under the clear spells with a patchy rural frost.
00:44So start the day on Monday, a grey picture for some of us, particularly across northern England and eastern England.
00:49Some of that cloud will produce some heavy showers across northern England and southern Scotland as we head through Monday afternoon.
00:55But for many places, it will stay dry with some sunny spells,
00:58perhaps turning a little bit cloudier for Wales and southern England to end the day.
01:02As we look ahead to the new week, then it starts on a mild note, but quickly we see cold air spilling down from the north.
01:09And that could bring some wintry weather for some of us as we head into the new week.
01:13Keep up to date with the details on our social media. Take care.
