00:00Hello there, Sunday and Monday will bring another very wet and windy spell of weather for the UK.
00:06Storm Franklin has been named by the Met Office and this will track across the UK starting through Sunday.
00:13A yellow wind warning is in force for gusts of 50-60mph inland and 70mph around the coast.
00:20An amber weather warning comes into force for Northern Ireland at midnight.
00:24As you can see, Storm Franklin tracks to the north of the UK through today,
00:28squeezing those isobars together and bringing some very windy conditions.
00:32A cold front will also bring some heavy rain to England and Wales,
00:36particularly north-west England today. Here we have a yellow rain warning in force.
00:41We'll also start to see some squally conditions develop along that cold front
00:44and that could bring some very intense rain and blustery winds,
00:48but only for a short-lived period of time as it tracks south-eastwards.
00:53Behind the main area of rain we've got clear spells and scattered showers.
00:57Some of those showers could turn wintry over northern hills tonight.
01:01As you can see, winds really intensifying across Northern Ireland overnight
01:05and through the early hours of Monday we've got an amber wind warning in force.
01:09The cloud and the wind should keep temperatures up just above freezing tonight.
01:14So looking ahead into Monday morning, it's still a very windy picture across the UK.
01:20Wind warnings are still in force, so do take care if you're heading out first thing on Monday.
01:25We've got some scattered showers pushing down from the north.
01:27It will feel very chilly in that wind as well.
01:31As we head through Monday, the winds will gradually start to ease
01:34and by the middle part of the afternoon they should be much lighter for most places.
01:39We'll also start to see some sunshine appear,
01:41so potentially a much brighter day on Monday compared to Sunday.
01:46As we head into Monday evening, we'll start to see another band of rain push in from the west.
01:51Once again, it will turn rather windy.
01:54This is the picture for much of the rest of the week.
01:57The jet stream is very active at the moment
02:00and it will continue to push spells of wet and windy weather across the UK from the Atlantic.
02:07Taking a look at the bigger picture, you can see weather fronts moving in from the west through Tuesday,
02:12eventually another weather front approaching Wednesday into Thursday,
02:16and further deep areas of low pressure.
02:19So a very similar outlook for the week next week.
