01:00My Pets, My Pets and Me. Have you met My Pets and Me?
01:05Today we are at a community farm in South Wales which is home to lots of different animals and a great place to see them up close.
01:18Jacob and Lily come here often and they are going to show me around. Let's go and find them.
01:30You must be Jacob and Lily. Hello.
01:33Hello Rory.
01:35And you must be Jacob's mum and you must be Lily's mum, right?
01:38Hi Rory.
01:39Great. And who are these guys? Who's this?
01:42Darla.
01:43She is gorgeous. And who's this?
01:45Finn.
01:46Finn. You're lovely. Nice hairdos guys. I like them.
01:49These look like miniature Shetland ponies.
01:52What other animals are there?
01:54There are loads of animals here.
01:56Okay then, let's go.
02:02This is my first time on a community farm but Jacob and Lily have visited lots of times. What do you guys love about it here?
02:16The Shetlands and the horsies.
02:18I like the cuddle corner and the cute rabbits.
02:23Oh, do you get to cuddle rabbits there?
02:25Yeah.
02:26Brilliant. This sounds like a great place. Look at these guys. Hiya.
02:30Some lovely goats. How you doing?
02:34If you don't have a pet of your own, or even if you do and you'd like to see more, a community farm like this is the perfect place to see lots of different animals.
02:41Shall we go meet some more animals?
02:43Yeah!
02:44Let's go.
02:45There's so much to see here. This place is awesome, isn't it?
03:00Yeah! We love it here.
03:03Oh, no wonder. Fionn, can you give us some facts about this community farm and others like it?
03:07Of course, Rory.
03:091. Community farms help to teach people all about how farms work. There is lots to learn on how food is grown and how it is harvested.
03:182. Some community farms have lots of animals and some grow their own vegetables as well.
03:263. It's not just vegetables that community farms can grow. They can also grow pretty flowers or tasty fresh fruit.
03:36Yummy!
03:394. Lots of community farms are in the countryside, but some farms are hiding right in the middle of busy cities.
03:56Looking after any pet is very important and the animals here are no different.
04:01Jacob and Lily don't own the pets here, but today they're getting to look after them.
04:05Jack works here. He cares for the animals and today we are going to help.
04:09Hi, Jack.
04:10Hi, Rory.
04:11This is a lovely pig. Who's this?
04:14Nancy.
04:15She's gorgeous, isn't she? Fancy Nancy. What a lovely pig. She's very calm.
04:21Now, we've got some overalls on here. I think that means we're in for a mucky job, but you guys have been coming up with a plan, so what are we going to do?
04:28First, we have to clean out Nancy's pan.
04:31Sounds like a very good idea because pigs like to be nice and clean. And then what are we going to do?
04:36We're going to feed the goats.
04:38Great, well, I think we should get on with that, don't you? We've got lots to do. Come on, let's go, guys.
04:53Okay, Jack, what's first?
04:55We're going to drag out all this dirty bedding and pick up all the poo and then we're going to put lots of clean straw back into Nancy's bed for her.
05:01Who wants to pick up the poo? Rory?
05:06Fine, okay, I'll do the poo.
05:09Let's get moving, then.
05:11Oh!
05:22So, Nancy's been really good, Lil, and she's kept her bed nice and clean, but we're just going to flap up all the straw and make it nice and comfy for her.
05:30Although pigs like to roll in mud, it's not because they're dirty, it's to cool themselves down.
05:34Pigs are actually very clean, so I think Nancy's going to be very happy with all this cleaning out that we're doing.
05:40Don't you?
05:41Yes.
05:42Right, let's keep going.
05:43Well, everyone, great work. Do you think we've done a good job, Jack?
05:46Well, I think so, but we better see what Nancy thinks.
05:48That's a good idea. Do you think she's going to like it?
05:50I think so.
05:52Just wrap the bed up.
05:53Oh
06:04Well everyone great work, I think we've done a good job Jack well, I think so, but we better see what Nancy thinks
06:10That's a good idea. Do you think she's gonna like it? Yeah
06:23Oh
06:26There we go, do you think Nancy likes it?
06:30Yes, I think Nancy looks very happy, but now it's time for us to feed the goats. What do we need to do first?
06:38Yes, and I think we should wash our wellies as well shouldn't we let's go come on
06:53Jack's
07:03Just putting some hair for the goats and these goats are very friendly
07:07So we're going to feed them by hand, but you can't do that with all goats. What we got to feed them
07:14Yes, we do shall we see if they're hungry here's some pellets I'll pass that over you hold that bowl there right guys
07:21What do you think someone's coming over hiya
07:27Put your hand nice and flat and they'll just gently lick it off look
07:36Male goats are called bucks or billy goats and female goats are called nannies or does
07:41Do you guys know what baby goats are called?
07:45Yeah, that's right. I think that's a great name for baby goats
07:49Goats are very smart and curious animals, so it's important to give them lots of space to explore and look around
07:55Some goats have excellent coordination and great balance that means they can climb up things and explore really well
08:01I think the goats look full now. I think they look very happy. Yes, let's go
08:18Have you enjoyed looking after the animals in the community farm yeah, it's been fun
08:22It has been fun hard work to though didn't the animals have enjoyed it
08:26Yes, if the animals here could do anything. What do you think they would do?
08:32The animals at the community farm could do anything they will throw a surprise party for the rabbits birthday
08:42And the horses will be happy
08:45Birthday and the horses would dance
08:50the goats would eat birthday cake and
08:53The rabbits would sing songs and it would be a big fun birthday party
09:09Well done guys we've worked really hard today haven't we
09:12But we've been so busy that we've not had the chance to get around the whole community farm and see all the animals
09:18So I think we deserve a treat. Let's hop on the track to ride and go and check everything out
09:23But then that trailer is very big. There's far too much room for just three of us. I think we're gonna need some friends
09:33Hi guys who wants to go on a tractor ride? Yeah, let's go
09:42Are you ready?
09:45Excellent
