00:00The great thing about a horse like Uncle Mo is that as he has become a proven sire, it's
00:14now the prophecy of self-fulfilling.
00:16When you look at the types of mares that he's getting, at the pedigrees that he's receiving
00:21as befitting a horse that's had 14 Grade 1 winners so far in his career, you've got to
00:26say that the best, hopefully, could be yet to come.
00:29A truly elite stallion can get you over 10 Grade 1 winners in their career.
00:34He's only 15 years old, he's got 14.
00:36A horse like Into Mischief, who stands for $100,000 more, has had 18 Grade 1 winners
00:40in his career.
00:41He's been a wonderful servant, not only for Ashford Stud, for Topletcher, and for Bowley
00:46Stables.
00:47The Brear's Cup Juvenile is one of those iconic stallion-making races.
00:50He won the Champagne Stakes, let's not forget, as well.
00:53I think he is widely regarded as the best horse in his generation, and he's gone on
00:58to prove that, certainly, in terms of being the leading sire from that generation.
01:03When you're looking to the future to see what stallion suits your mare, there can't be any
01:07really better decision than breeding a mare to Uncle Moe.
01:10He gives you everything.
01:11He gives you success in the sales ring.
01:13His yearlings last year averaged $325,000 from 75 sold, 40 of them brought over $250,000,
01:21and five of them brought over $1 million.
01:23He is a sire that's capable of getting a Belmont Stakes winner in Moe Donegal, and a Champion
01:30Grass Sprinter like Golden Pal, in the same year.
01:34He gets you fillies like a moray.
01:36He gets you another filly like a Dair Manor.
01:38He gets you winners on dirt, on turf, going long, going short.
01:41In Europe, on the East and West Coast, they seem to be able to do it all.
01:46He's starting to become an elder statesman, but he's still at the peak.
01:51The Abahani Stallion's career, in terms of horses he's got standing at stud, in terms
01:55of the legacy he's going to create, I'd say the future is looking ultra bright for Uncle
02:00Moe.
02:01His career really took off when he sired Eclipse Award-winning juvenile Nyquist in his first
02:05crop, who obviously won the Breeders' Cup juvenile like Uncle Moe, and then went on
02:09to become a Kentucky Derby winner.
02:11Nyquist, who's gone on to become a wonderful sire in his own right, siring four grade one
02:16winners so far.
02:17But then you've got horses like Outwork, who's a grade one producer himself.
02:22The Outpond's first yearlings were very, very well received with his first crop over at
02:26Spendthrift Farm.
02:28And then you've got our own Golden Pal, who's gone from being a really expert sprinter on
02:34the turf to now becoming the stallion who covered most mares in the United States last
02:39year.
02:40The thing about breeding to a horse like Uncle Moe is that everything in horse racing, whether
02:46you're running, whether you're breeding, whether you're foaling a mare, it's about having confidence.
02:50When you think of the quality of mare that's come to him, you think of the yearlings that
02:54went through the sales ring last year, how well received they are, and you look at in
02:58whose hands they're going to be.
03:00They're with all the best trainers all around this country.
03:03If you're looking to get a mare started off right or breed your proven mare, I think you
03:08could do an awful lot worse than send your mare to Uncle Moe.
