00:00A son of champions Curlin and Beholder, the colt that was the most expensive yearling
00:07to sell at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga has been one to watch from the get-go.
00:10But how's he doing now that he's started his training?
00:13We stopped by Eddie Wood's stable to find out.
00:17It's nice to have the most expensive yearling in the world.
00:22It's pretty cool to have that.
00:24We've had a lot of expensive horses.
00:26We haven't had a $4 million one here before.
00:28It's the most expensive bought horse we've ever had on the farm.
00:31So it's pretty cool.
00:32He came in a little while ago, a pretty straightforward kind of horse.
00:37We let him settle in, we went ahead and started breaking him.
00:40That went well.
00:41And we've taken him through the paces slowly, he's now been galloping on the track about
00:45three weeks.
00:46Well, he's a lovely looking horse, you know, ugly horses don't bring $4 million.
00:52He's similar to what the Curlins are from a colour point of view, and he'd be a little
00:57bit more on it than a lot of the Curlins.
01:00He was a little wiry one day in public.
01:04Everyone just thinks that's the way they are, and it's not always the case.
01:07You know, he's a good feeling horse, and he moves well, and he behaves himself well and
01:12handles well.
01:13He's good in traffic and a pretty straightforward kind of coach.
01:17But right now he's jogging about half a mile, and he's cantered in a mile.
01:22And we'll kind of keep it at that for a while.
01:25We're probably going to be giving him a little bit of a break here after a while just to
01:28get over the breaking process, and it's not a horse that's going to be running four and
01:31a half or five furlings or anything like that.
01:33He won't run probably Delmar or something.
01:36So there's, you know, you can put a lot of unnecessary miles on him.
01:41And so we'll just give him a chance to grow up and get over being broken and being a horse.
